1st tire rotation with 20" tires on EQS 450 4Matic SUV
Downsized from 21" tires to 20" tires a few months ago. Reached the 5000 mile mark and rotated the 265/50R-20 PIRELLI SCORPION AS PLUS 3 XL tires today. These tires start with 11/32" tread depth. The right rear tire is just above the 10/32" mark and the other three tires are at about 10.5/32". These tires have a 70K mile manufacturer's warranty. I don't expect to get that much life out of the tires but I think 40K to 50K miles is achievable if I rotate them every 5000 miles.
I had 24000 miles on the first set of 21" Goodyear Eagle Touring tires before changing out to the 20" tires for the Winter. I hope to get another 2000 miles from those tires next Summer.

Have you noticed any changes in range while using the 20"

No. At 20K miles my average consumption was 39.9 kWh/100 miles. At 29K miles (including 5K with 20" tires) the average is 39.2 kWh/100 miles. Over the next two Winter months I expect this average to creep up a bit. The width of the tire patch is 8.9" on both the factory 275/45-R21 tires and the current 265/50-R20 tires. So I don't expect there to be much difference in the range.
The real difference is the price of the tires. 21" $400 to $500 each. 20" $200 to $300 each.
