The old stock TireRack Summer tires are a good deal for someone who needs new tires before returning a lease vehicle. They are likely to be worn out after 12000 miles which is six months for me. Plus, they would not be suitable for someone who does not use Winter tires.

Agree. But be careful to ensure they are run flats as most (all?) come with them. If you turn in without the same spec, you will be charged.
In the past, I usually throw on a set of tires from https://www.utires.com/ before turn in. Even cheaper than going the tirerack route
EDIT: I see tirerack has the runflat option for a bit more (didnt scroll down at first). Great deal!
