Manual map update - (NO_VIN) error
I try to report this error and that page to report is returning 404 error
Why is this so hard to do simple things with MB? The service is unavailable for technical reasons.

I could never find any detailed instructions on how to load the maps into the car, ie any usb port? Does car have to be turned on?? I think you have to have car turned on because I loaded the stick at night with the car on and turned car off and 10 hours later the next morning the maps had stopped loading.
I also have issues with the 2 OTA updates I have received since I’ve owned the car. One was for suspension updates. Says it helps with parking but doesn’t tell how. I had an issue with car and just had it in for service and asked my service advisor what the update did. He had no clue. He said Mercedes keeps them in the dark too about just what these updates do. How would one know if you wanted to download the update without knowing what it does to the car. Especially since I saw some feedback after forum members downloaded the suspension update and didn’t like how the car handled after the update.

I called Mercedes Customer Service and asked them to create a case for me.
This issue persisted for over two months, during which I was unable to download the map. I tried again last night, and it finally worked, although I did not receive any notification from Mercedes Customer Service or support.
I suggest you try downloading the map again or contact Mercedes Customer Service to create a case and escalate the issue.

Edit: the installation went fine. I plugged the thumb drive into the USB C port and the system detected it and started the install.

I downloaded the US East coast on a stick and it downloaded fine. That was in January 2026.
Some little Issues with the download from Mercedes Server to my Macbook pro, but probably user error (me).
