Clearly some people have figured out how to make money off charging. Good for them! It's not a public service like some corporations seem to think. But I guess that's what happens when success is dependent on playing politics and getting free tax dollars to build them.

I'm waiting for EV charging to go the route of Air B&B -- park in somebody's private residence driveway and hand them $50 for an extension cord.

I think "public" residential charging will be a little more sophisticated than what you described.

Undoubtedly so -- but when an EV'er needs a juicing, sophistication will take a back seat to whatever is readily available.
