Trying to complete downloaded software update. Have two questions, please (see the picture):
1. What is "P"?
2. How do I "engang" it??? P Must Be Enganged
P is Park vs R for Reverse, D for Drive, and N for Neutral.
In a previous OTA I had to manually engage the parking brake, but not the most recent one. It does not hurt to do that.

As you can see, the third line mentions parking break, and it is satisfied. Although I am not exactly sure how to set it, I push / pull the parking break lever until that line changes to red.
BTW, it looks like items in RED are actually OK, right? Judging by the "Windows and Roof" line, as everything is closed.
You can't see on the picture, but I am most certainly in P (not driving).
Tried again now, in a garage - was not prompted for installation. The Software Update screen has "Continue" button disabled.
Try driving around the block, make sure all the items are set, and try again.
Finally drove to do some shopping.
Parked there, but was NOT prompted for the install.
Got there through the menus, and was NOT presented with the screen above, it simply proceeded to install.
For some reason, it demanded that I would exit the vehicle to do that. I wonder - why?
In short, all installed. I am yet to find the benefits of that update

Lots of things will stop working during the software update. They want to make 100% sure no one is in the car, and definitely not trying to drive the car.

You're reading that backwards. Red is bad. On your screen, the only variable that was met, was the car was in (P)ark. Hence the white text and a "check mark" meaning that's been accomplished. You want all the lines to be white not red. You don't come up to a stop light and drive through the intersection when you see the red stoplight on, do you?
Park the car, roll up the windows, close the doors, set the parking brake (don't "break" it), turn off the auto start stop.

Fair enough, thank you for pointing that out. Makes sense it wouldn't have a Start / Stop button like an ICE car would. To my defense, haven't owned an electric car for a good 40+ years.

Well sir... I genuinely can't remember the model of the car, but it was made by Fisher, a subsidiary of a large company, called the Mattel Toy Corporation. I think it was a JEEP, but I put all those memories in deep storage years ago.
Did you know that off an on, from the 20's through the early 70's, we did have road going electric cars?
