Taking delivery familiarization…
Taking delivery Monday morning, Dec 27!
Knowing time limits and limits on ability to absorb new information, I’m making a list of what I think I want to concentrate on -
1. MercedesMe
2. iPhone setup
3. Charge settings
4. Verbal communication - “Hey, Mercedes!”
5. Navigation quirks
6. Regen/ride settings
Any suggestions?
Radio? Bottom of any list.

The biggest things on my checklist are the
- Remote parking and control features
- Mercedes me stuff
- The plug and charge Mercedes feature where I don't futz with different chargers
- The 2 years of free EA charging
- Check all my optional extras

Thanks for your input.
I didn’t buy any non- standard options that involve driving the car - wanted to keep things simple and keep the price down.
The closest public access Charger is 40 minutes away; I anticipate very minimal opportunity or need to use Mercedes’ free charging. Have my own ChargePoint in my garage.

Well, got my car - the first one EQS the dealer sold and delivered.
Had a familiarization, then drove it about 60 miles home on four lane city Interstate and 2- and 3- lane stop-and-go country roads.
Lovely in every way. No surprises, a good learning curve on cruise control.

Yes and no.
Yes, as many will already be aware, in that instead of pushing buttons or moving switches, you slide your fingers to execute.
No, in that the functions are the same.
I hope that’s clear.
As we have heard discussed many times here, some like this, some don’t.
The fact is it’s here and it’s not going away
To me, the ride was no different than what I have in the ’18 S. Not sure if I ever posted this, but the ‘18 doesn’t have 4-Matic. I chose Magic Body Control instead and we have loved it.

This might be a good time for me to explain, not that anyone is wondering, that as an old man creeping up on 90, I have no need to spend $ on glitz, glamor, or pizzazz.
I am not into AMG and whatever it offers, nor into duding up a car to impress anyone or make me feel good about myself.
Been there, done that.
The 450 gives me all I want/need. The only functioning options I ordered were the extra HEPA filtration and massage seats for the front.
Very pleased with my optional Cardinal Red, as I’m tired of white, black, and silver.

Don’t know about self-driving in my 450 and won’t.
I used it on one 50 mile drive in my S, and felt it was too imprecise. Never used it again.

I found it to drive to straight, too far, into some curves before correcting its approach, The correction was too quick and too sharp for my taste and comfort. This was the 2018 version.

The key is, its not self driving. You still drive, it just does the bulk of the driving for you and reduces fatigue. if you expect it to take curves and things like that as if someone was driving it, you're not using it as its designed to be used.

I don’t even know, nor does it matter, since I don’t plan on driving any distances over 100 miles in this car, if it has the capability.

My guess is they will be the same as the W223, improved over the W222.
