Official statement from the CEO.
No it will be a smaller G-Wagon by his words, and even appears to tease a rear-mounted spare. No clue what it will look like or whether it will be a 2 or 4-door. The GLB is getting its own successor on the MMA platform which was teased above in the previous post's photo. Based on the fact that the electric GLA successor has been spotted, the electric GLB will also likely be out before the smaller electric G. It seems to still be very early stages of development.

I like what I'm seeing and I like that this is coming from Mercedes. Just kinda goes to show that the legacy car manufacturers are still a level up when it comes to designing a car compared to Tesla. Particularly impressive is the curb weight. A sore spot for me in current BEVs and performance hybrids. Now the question is what something like this would actually cost if it were to go to production. It's not like lightweight cars couldn't be built before using carbon fiber etc., but it was just very very expensive.
I take this as what the Hyperscreen was supposed to look like from the beginning. I went to the EQS test drive event a couple of weeks ago, and the girl that rode with me said her friend was actually the lead developer on the Hyperscreen, and they wanted it to be one single screen like this, but at the time was technically not quite feasible yet, so they settled on the three screens. Looks like they've now overcome the technical obstacles they were facing and made it a single screen. I was personally not impressed by the Hyperscreen to be honest. The rake is quite odd. This looks more like it.
I take this as what the Hyperscreen was supposed to look like from the beginning. I went to the EQS test drive event a couple of weeks ago, and the girl that rode with me said her friend was actually the lead developer on the Hyperscreen, and they wanted it to be one single screen like this, but at the time was technically not quite feasible yet, so they settled on the three screens. one day it will be one screen, and before that, any setup is ugly.
that's why the G-Klasse will not get the hyper super screens.
