You're not kidding. I used EA while waiting for a level 2 charger to be installed at my house. It's a miserable experience of broken chargers. If I relied on public charging, I would most likely get a Tesla. While their quality is lacking, their superchargers are the best. Hopefully they open them all up to us non Tesla drivers.

My experience has been vastly different. Both EA charging stations I have used at two different Walmarts were just upgraded, and worked flawlessly. Each delivered 150kW initially, and tapered down as the car charged. Each took less than 25 minutes to charge the car. Hopefuly this is an indication of EA improving their service. YMMV.

I as well have had no major issues with EA chargers. On long trips from Des Moines to near Akron, OH, there have been 1 or 2 of four chargers not working at a couple stations but I always have been able to get the job done on EA chargers.

I have noticed that the EA station just west of Des Moines has improved. There are no longer any issues on the 4 chargers. Other than an occasional charging at my home with the ChargePoint Home Flex charger, I have ALWAYS used the EA chargers since I took possession of the 580 on May 2, 2022.

@AppleFan1, two more EA's will be up and running in DSM soon. In my experience, EA has come a long way, and worked out a lot of the kinks. In 2019, EA was almost all I had between Des Moines and Chicago, and I'd often waste 1/2 hour of time, just getting one to work. Sometimes I'd have to try 4 plugs before getting one to work. But, I've not had this experience in the past couple years...much better than the old days.

Where in Des Moines will the two EA’s be located? Thanks for the good news.

One will be at the Fareway in Clive, on University, and the other on Merle Hay just south of the I35/80 exit. Sorta close together...they could have spread those out better.

Wow! The one just south of I-80/35 is about 1.5 miles from where I live. Is there a timeline as to when they will be operational?

No, I just saw on Plugshare that it is in progress. I'll swing by next time I'm in the area and see how far along they are.

Adding one more to the Battery Malfunction issue on the EQS 450 SUV. Got my EQS for Memorial day (1.5 weeks ago) and last Friday - battery malfunction, car would not start etc etc. Tried all the suggestions, closed and locked door, left it overnight etc etc but still got the error message battery critical and car cannot be towed. Have only driven 100 miles on it.

In future, I will take a hard pass on any electric vehicle from MB and hope they can fix the current lemon soon for me to enjoy(?) it.

I would bring it back to MB for service. In my case, they worked with MB engineering to push some update that fixed my issue. It’s been rock solid since then. Don’t be surprised if it takes a week or two to get everything sorted.

It’s an early adopter challenge. Although to be fair, I have friends who have much worse issues with their Teslas with virtually zero service to help them.

Agree with above. I was one of first had the same HV battery issue, air conditioning problems, Apple CarPlay lagging. Since a major update that I got in May 2022, I basically have had 0 problems but it was annoying as heck early on.

Once they fix it hopefully will be trouble free!

Mine is manufactured in March 2023 - would they not have installed the April 2022 update? That's even worse Quality Control from MB.

could be a different firmware issue or software issue which is why turning off the car etc didn’t work for you. I hope they find the solution to your problem soon! It truly is an exceptional car !

Same problem with EQS SUV 450+

Hello everyone, I bought damaged EQS SUV 450+ from USA. Repair was done by official service dealer in my city. When I take a car haven’t any errors in memory. Friday I gone to 900 km from my city, during trip have appear only one problem with steering wheel, but can still can drive without any confusion. When I come to destination plug on charging from usually 220V. In the morning problem with steering wheel disappear and I plane to go home. I choose mode powerful charging station and go there. When I fill in almost 70% in HV battery, I have problem with charging, the charging port of my car blink red. I try to start the car, BUT have errors about towards and malfunctions same with the author! Can’t drive any more. Dealer told me wait 30 mins, nothing helps. Then he told me disconnect minus connector from the 12V battery, noting... Now my car on the another Mercedes dealer station in this city. Tomorrow will go to dealer again and hope they will help! Terrible

Solve the problem.

My problem was solved by changing 12V battery. That’s all, everything work well!

I had this issue since day 5 of ownership.

Temp solution: press the start button on and off 5 times and it becomes normal again.

Real solution: the massive recall I posted includes the fix for this go to the dealer and get that done. Mine hasn't done it since. It used to do it every few days
