Dash cam
Got a 450+ , with Hyperscreen… sweet.
It did not come with the dash cam option. (This was an on the lot car. ). Since all the cameras are there, can the option (SW app) be dealer installed?
Thanks in advance…

So this is just my theory, but I think you'll be able to purchase it through the app soon. Look at the Mercedes Me Connect app, hit the hamburger stack on the top left corner, click on your vehicle, go to manage services, and then look at the safety and service option. There's a "buy" button next to the Dashcam option which leads me to believe it will be a function on demand that you can purchase.

I did finally found that page. States not available yet. Do you think dealer can install it from their end. I will check with them and report back here if no one knows.
Thanks

Here is a good video that talks about the dashcam. Not sure everything in the video applies to the US-based EQS cars....but you get the idea. Sounds like the camera is already in the car - being used for the augmented reality views. So it seems like the dashcam purchase is simply allowing you to record the video and use the dashcam app.

Yeah, I noticed that it already has all the hardware it needs. It seems like the Dashcam is meant to be a separate app which is only available on Android right now. Unfortunately I don't have Androids to try.

The MBUX app would need to be purchased from the Mercedes Me store. For some reason early models with the necessary HW do not have the app available from the store but someone in the UK managed to solve it. Probably does not apply to US cars at the moment.

Just got word from a reliable source at MBUSA. We live in hope but have to wait."Buying upgrades like Dashcam is a future enhancement, but not something that’s available in the US market yet. The Mercedes Me app jumped the gun a little early."

Salesman included the dashcam on my order...I'll stay hopeful that it will be there when I get the car. I wonder if there is a difference between ordering the dashcam feature when you order the car versus trying to add the dashcam feature after you receive the car?

I just checked the App and when you hit "BUY" it now says "App is currently unavailable in the APP store". Annoying at best. Dealer had me get the UBS stick, adapter all for something that does not exist.
They also told me that the car didn't come with a J1772 cable and that I had to buy one. When I finally had the time to read the manual (which is a daunting undertaking) I found that was BS too. Clearly says it come with a cable (just like my Teslas). Told the dealer what I found and voila my cable appeared. Also, no mats yet. On backorder. They are clearly not familiar with this car yet. The car - BTW - is fantastic. Complicated for sure with the multilevel screen, but still nothing ever rides like this one. Not my S550 or any Tesla.

My e-tron came with a very good portable Level 2 cable for the car so there's no excuses for Mercedes not to do the same

What cable are you talking about? There's an emergency 110v charging kit available as an option but I've seen nothing about a Level 2 charger being included in the manual. It's one of my main gripes with the car overall.

I don't have the manual handy (it's in the car, I'm in my apartment) but it is there under charging. It clearly states Level 2 charging (they call it Main 2 charging) and when I addressed it with the dealer they said yes and gave me the J1772 cable. Level 2 is the three prong, washing machine type outlet (240) which I have in my weekend home and used for my 2 Tesla Mod S. To your point about the emergency kit - where is that located?
BTW in my garage in Manhattan they have Tesla destination chargers (I pay $100/month for unlimited charging) which I use to charge the EQS. I bought a mini adapter from Teslatap that allows the Tesla charger to fit the EQS, very necessary since there are no Manhattan chargers in the Electrify America network (which is a major problem for MB). I sure am hoping that road trips will not be a problem.

Can you post a copy of the manual section that you are referring to?

It specifically said "Mains 2" charging and referenced their preference to ONLY use MB genuine equipment. Mains 2 is our Level 2. The dealer gave me the same cable that they are using to charge EQS' on the showroom floor.
