Im always surprised how few go for Selenite gray magno. Its the best looking (IMO thats why MB uses it on all their AMG promotions) and best paint Mercedes has to offer (virtually indestructible). It also happens to be the easiest paint to maintain. Well worth the extra 3k for looks and functionality. Its also comment magnet

Every close up I've seen of the HS shows it covered in dust.....just like in the OPs photo! The joys of cars, dust and static. Add to that the joys of finger prints and I think its would drive an obsessive car cleaner like me mad!!!.......this is all irrelevant though as EV's have no appeal to me at all......looks cool though and I don't doubt its a great car.
Hope you have the best of luck and enjoy it.

There is a solution, at least for the piano black bits. Use a ceramic wax like Meguiar's ultimate fast finish on them! It will keep fingerprints and dust off for weeks. Spray on a towel wipe and done. I can't recommend it for the screen yet, but I'm pretty sure it will work there as well since the surface is glass, thus, it shouldn't affect anything. When I get my vehicle, I'll give it a try starting by one of the non- functional corners of the screen.

That’s the color I opted for. Been diamond white for years and decided to try something different for a change.

I like white, but it's only second to black in the PITA factor.

Not my car, but I highly recommend you spring for Nautical Blue. This color is not only one of the most flattering shades available for the EQS, but also just a great color in general, very elegant, and really sparkles in the sun compared to the typical black or white.

Got me curious actually, how close is it to cavansite blue (or lunar blue in USA)?

I agree, the blue looks great! That's the color of the 450 I drove. Im not a fan of black on black interors, something has to break the monotony. Luckily the AMG black has gray tones for contrast

I'd have to have the two lineup up next to each other, but I'd say they're probably within 90% similar, maybe Nautical is a bit brighter in lighter settings but essentially for those that liked Lunar, this is pretty much the same.

Great shots, this is the first time I've seen Cardinal on an AMG-Line EQS (other than EQS 53's). Looks great!

EQS 580
What are you guys doing to me? I love blue, that was my color if I ordered. The 580 I picked is Obsidian black. Very elegant, but I still have the blues....

An update for everyone. 15F today, car in open garage. Steady battery over last 10 hours. Not sure what happened first day, it was only marginally colder. Looks like the vampire has left the building

Remember, the car is always "alive" even when off. Maybe it was "conditioning" the battery. Another thing that is notorious for drawing battery in air suspension cars is if there are any leaks, very doubtful given that the car is brand new. Just keep an eye on it.

I'll start a list of things I miss from Taycan / Tesla - feel free to chime in

1. Remote start of heated seats / heated steering wheel. The Taycan was pretty good with that (when it worked - my car was in the shop over 6 weeks to fix the remote communication issues). All 3 Tesla's were flawless on this.
2. Have to push start / stop button. Why? I understand the rationale for ICE (don't want to release exhaust fumes inadvertently) but what is the reason in electric cars? If I am seating in the driver seat and push the brake, should the car not assume I want to drive?
3. Rapid heated seats. The car I picked does not have them. For those living in cold area, order them....
4.

Actually, I cannot come up with a fourth item. The car is fabulous and drive amazingly well. Love it.

I think I have a solution for half of Bullet point 1. On pre-entry climate control in the Mercedes app,

Hit temperature

Hit seat at the top

What does this screen look like for you?

It’s interesting that the US EQS has limited options versus the German one. To give a couple of examples some of the show cars last April had:
1) Burmester 4D high end audio (more speakers more watts). Not an option on US builds
2) Rear seat entertainment (also not an option)
3) Rear window shades which worked with the nap mode. Also not an option.

All part of the winter package, in addition to a heated windshield. That's why I never buy a car off the lot. Even the EQS, where Mercedes is finally bundling options, there are still very desireable ones to pick from like heated rear seats without the pinnacle trim.

They wanted to keep the price low. The extensive a la carte menu makes the car pricier.

I googled it, saw the temperature on the climate control as in your first picture. Much to my chagrin, on my Mercedes Me Connect app there is no Temperature button . Will try to switch scheduled climate control to off, see if the temperature pops up.

it looks like they don’t offer it in any market. What I don’t understand is why they put it on the show car. I find this kind of bait and switch very annoying.

I have a 2019 S450 that’s selenite gray. However, I thought I would try a different color for my EQS 480 that should be here by mid March. So I decided to go with cirrus silver that most of the folks here don’t really care about.
