EQS 53 - DEAD?
My dealer tells me the EQS 53 is dead and replaced by the AMG EQSV4 with most of the 53 specs. Is this true, anyone with more info? And what will the badging look like?

It's on sale in Germany, so doesn't look like it's dead. Last I heard is that it was delayed for North America.

AMGEQSV4
I had an EQS 580 on order since April 22, 2021 my MB dealer has had two allocations, one for the demo 580 and one which was supposed to be mine however the CEO of a company bumped me and received the second allocation. Yesterday my sales associate called and said my EQS 580 may not be available for months but on their inventory sheet was a first edition AMGEQSV4 that was built and waiting for transport from Germany to Baltimore. I was given first opportunity to purchase the car and although it was slightly more than my EQS 580 decided this car was to good to pass on so I filled out the buyers agreement and bought the car.

Same car different name. The 53 designation was for European cars, and the AMG was for NA market cars. I don't think there will be another AMG version of the EQS. They might tweak it one way or another in the future, but thats it. If they had used the 53 designation here, buyers might have skipped it because of the expectation of a 63 in the not too distant future..
maybe for the mid cycle refresh it may come back.
