Curious to hear if anyone else has noticed some fit and finish issues on their EQS. I took a road trip to AZ yesterday and found out that at 60mph or over, some paneling on my front right door rattles like crazy. I also noticed that the rear center armrest had a small piece of trim missing upon pickup of the car. Very disappointing for a $120k car, will have to make a service appointment for it when I get home.
On the rattling - The next time you have the opportunity to reproduce the rattle, especially if you have a passenger, have them place their finger (or place your finger) behind the door release latch and take the pressure off the latch, see if the rattle stops.
So far my EQS580 is close to perfect from a built quality point of view. The only thing that stands out is that the suspension makes a slight noise when going up/down. I never hear it when driving on normal roads but when I go into/leave my driveway I can hear it. I have yet to do a test to see if I can compress the suspension by pushing down on the car to see if I can replicate it. It doesn't really bother me though as at speed it's like a tank.
No such issues. But I will tell you a story that on two occasions I took cars to the dealer for a rattle and on both occasions it turned out it was an object placed by a member of the family inside the car. On one occasion a comb, and on another occasion a pair of 3D glasses from the movie theater.
There was one time it was a real rattle and the dealer fixed it by putting some insulation in the door panel.

Ditto My 450+ has been near perfect. (knock on wood!) My only concern is the amount of electricity the door handles popping in and out use in relation to the 12V battery. They pop out and illuminate if anyone swishes by my keys hanging on the key rack inside the house, or if I'm washing the car and move a towel over them. If my wife picks her keys off the key rack, and moves the EQS key, the door latches pop out and illuminate. Wish they were, actually, less sensitive. 1st World problems, indeed. But, certainly, no rattles.

it uses very little power. You wouldn’t notice the drain from this. I have the same issue and have been watching the drain. I can’t see a linkage.
Exceptional quality on my end. This is coming from an owner of 3 prior Tesla Model S' where each had worse quality than the one before. I am hoping the OTA updates increase the convenience and capability.

I, too, can't see a linkage to the main HV battery, or any drain. However, I believe (and I admit that I may be wrong) that these are functions performed by the 12V battery. Unless one has installed one of the bluetooth monitors, I don't know how to monitor it's status until it becomes critically low, which then notifies you. I freely admit this may be small stuff, and I may be making much ado about nothing.

Does the up/down motion happen automatically? I don't think the EQS has air suspension controls and GPS activation like the Model S.
Thats good to know. This is my first Mercedes, lots to learn.
Yeah you can hear the actuators working, sounds like a kind of clicking and the compressor running at times. In my Lexus LS the air suspension was silent, but it didnt adapt as quickly as the airmatic in the S560 nor was it as robust.

And... can happen where the car is on or not. The easiest way to know you have a leak in the suspension is a dead battery due to a pump that is running all too often.

you must have a keen ear. I have never heard the Mercedes’ air suspension either on our former E63S or on our GLE450 or on our EQS.
Quick update - it was definitely something I loaded into the car that was rattling so good call on that! A new issue did pop up though - Nav with Electric Intelligence decided not to work today. The Nav system was stuck on the "optimizing route" step for the entire trip. I tried many different addresses, turned the car on and off multiple times, toggled all the settings, no difference. It wouldn't tell me where to charge no matter what

I’ve seen that optimizing route issue as well but it went away by itself the next day.
I have service scheduled tomorrow for a passenger-side headrest rattle. It's quite intense, too. Pushing my hand against it temporarily stops the rattling so I know the issue is in there. Hoping it's a quick fix I can wait at the dealer for.
Quick update - the dealer performed a powertrain recall update and ordered a new pax headrest and a new rear cup holder from Germany. Both are back ordered so they'll have me bring the car back once they arrive. Hopefully I can get it sorted before my next road trip in a few weeks. Having the headrest rattle for 7 hours would drive me crazy.

I'm wondering if you got this headrest rattle fixed? My car has the same problem. The dealer has tried to fix it three times but the rattling goes on.
This is a new one. Is the noise coming from the buttons to adjust the head rest? It's not like the headrest is a complicated thing. Probably dismantling it and putting it back together should "fix" it. Sometimes I wonder about these "mechanics"🙄

It’s coming from somewhere inside the lower part of the headrest or upper part of the front passenger seat. The resonating noise disappears if I place my hand on either of them. Also disappears if it’s very hot inside the car or if someone is sitting on the passenger seat. There must be some slightly loose plastic parts that are in contact with each other? The mechanics have added foam in different parts around the insides of the headrest but the noise always comes back, even before I reach home from the service center.
