Pre-entry climate control

Used it for the first time today. Wonderful! Very slick, and simple set and forget. No loud fans when you get to the hot car. When you get there the system has set the temperature perfectly to the set temp including the seat! NICE. Much better than the previous system which simply ran the car for ten minutes after activation and didnt work 50% of the time (E43). Also more sophisticated than the GLS 580 which doesnt allow setting the temperature but does work consistently.

I agree, its great. I only began using it after my wife threaten to shoot me! I left her in the car with my keys and the car running and air conditioning keeping her cool. that lasted about 5 minutes and then it shut down completely all functions and locked the doors,(she was in the passenger seat) . I tried the same thing with her in the car with the keys the next time and it happened again.

So i tried the Pre - entry Climate control; I parked and turned off the systems and locked the doors, with my wife looking on with much trepidation. I manually "activated" the Mercedes Me Climate control and it started the cooling immediately and was on when I came back 20 minutes later. Worked perfect.

And if your car is parked in the garage on a really hot or cold day, you don't have to worry about carbon monoxide building up.

BTW, do any of you at the first start of the day put your foot on the brake, push start, and wait a few seconds for the oil to circulate before driving? ....old habits!

Good to hear, did you notice how much battery the 20 min used?

There is an easier way to keep the car cool while you are going to the liquor store or ATM. Press the icon just to the lower left of the Home button and above the climate menu. The OFF buttons for climate control will change to ON and continue to cool or heat the car for 20-30 minutes. More better than the entry fuss.
