Power Source

Are there any other power sources in the car to run or charge devices other then the USB-C ports? My previous Mercedes had a 110 volt outlet and other cars have cigarette lighter sockets (that you could plug a charger into).

I tried to plug in my Samsung Tablet into the USB port and the car screen said it was drawing too much power. Any ideas how to keep it charged while driving? Do any of the USB ports provide more current then the others like you see on some USB hubs?

Thanks!

If you have the tire compressor in your trunk kit, you should have a 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet in the passenger footwell area. It is will hidden behind a pop out cover.

Well there is a pop out cover and it has some kind of connector, but not a cigarette lighter socket. There are also fuses behind that cover. I could have my car stereo guy hook up something there, but I doubt I will be taking that many long trips like I have planned for next week. Hopefully the tablet keeps it's charge watching video for the 5 or so charging stops along the way.

Thanks for your reply it really helped.

You found the wrong cover. I should have been more specific. Do you have the tire compressor in your trunk well? The cigarette lighter is up high by the passenger LEFT foot well.

I have something in the well in the trunk. Looks like a can of spray and maybe a pump. I'll look again. Thanks!

I looked in the LEFT drivers foot well and didn't see it, but I did see the super top secret closely guarded release lever for the front hood.

I also looked again on the passenger side with a flashlight and found the cigarette lighter socket. Perfect location near the center of the car to plug in a 2.whatever amp USB charger. I wouldn't think the charger draws any more then the tire pump.

Thanks again for helping me find it!
