Inoperable lane keeping and active brake assist

Inoperable lane keeping and active brake assist
Today, I got a warning stating that active braking and lane keeping assist are inoperable. I turned the car off and back on but get the same message. The car seems to drive normally. Has anyone else had this issue? I will call my dealer tomorrow.

My W223 had these two hiccups (Active Lane Assist and Active Brake Assist Inoperative) once in the entire past year since new delivery.
Each time, I let the car sits overnight and they went away the next morning.
My dealer told me that this is likely caused by the sensors/radars are confused by some external interference and the computer decided to not offer these 2 assistance temporarily. Sitting overnight, the computer runs internal diagnostic and resets itself. If they do not go away after a day or two, then visiting the dealer is next.

Are you also getting a tire low pressure warning. I had the pressure warning followed by the errors you mentioned. Add air to the tire and all is well.

A lot of the systems are interconnected, thus an issue with one cascades to others. However, The main drivetrain seems to be isolated from everything else. That lets you drive the vehicle even with all the other doodads on the fritz.

For my W223, I once had ''Check tyre pressure'' and ''Active blind spot assist inoperative'' errors at the same time.
But I just corrected the tyre pressure at the gas station the day before and I double checked with my own pressure gauge which also showed correct pressures.
So, I 'reset' the tyre pressures by using those current values as ''reference''. Once I did that, both warnings/errors went away.
So, if you are sure the tyre pressures are correct, try resetting them as reference values.

My wife and I are taking the first long trip to Oak Brook, IL tomorrow and I wanted to make sure everything is working as it should. Btw, I just finished charging the battery to 100% charge and it shows a range of 466 miles. I know this accurate as long as the driving is in the city. It will probably be reduced to close to 400 miles on the Interstate since driving at fairly high speed consumes more power. I’ll try to keep the speed to less than 70 mph but it’s hard to do with this car. I have all season tires and 21 inch wheels.

As expected, problem solved once the dealer increased all 4 tires to exactly to 42. The recommended pressure is 41 so as the previous poster mentioned above, maybe they should be reset.

THIS
Safety features interconnected with some drive systems will SHUT off if those drive systems are out of range or dysfunctional. They are not broken, just suspended until the primary interconnected system is restored. The message is to notify you NOT to rely on that feature.
On performance cars I've owned, features such as ESP (traction control) will turn off if there is a powertrain code pending such as misfires or any control feature of the "drive by wire" function. Here too, the message is - Don't count on traction control working until you fix the primary control feature.

I charged the car 90 miles from home to 98% and reached our destination in Oak Brook, IL with 118 miles of range to spare. I'm guessing that my range during the trip was about 380 miles. I was driving at an average speed of 65-70 mph.

our trip from Des Moines was pleasure. However, there was one sort of scary incident. On I-80 I was in process of passing a truck and all of a sudden the seatbelts tightened with hard braking. I know this problem was reported at some other thread. I have no idea why this happened.

Turn the self braking to it least sensitive setting... Sounds like your passing maneuver was a little too close to the truck. The pre-colission system activated. Again, if you dial the system down to it least sensitive setting you avoid its activation when driving a little enthusiastically.

I got the warning as well this past week. It happened the same time as my low tire pressure came up. I put air in the tires and was at the correct pressure but tire pressure alarm did not go away until I reset tire pressures via the service menu on the driver’s display. Once that was completed the lane keep and active brake began working again.

I think I had the same experience. Although Mercedes Me told me my tire pressures were in an acceptable range, the car kept after me about checking tire pressures.
I had the message about some of the esoteric drive assistance systems not working, but, since I never have used them, I simply ignored them figuring the dealer could check it out when I took the car in.
My son put air in the tires and none of the messages have returned. I'm not going to bother with changing the pressure settings; it's not worth bothering with.
If all this shows me as prett9y much laissez-faire, so be it.

Had the same problem. Seemed to go away but replaced by a tire pressure warning that comes up on the dash center and will not go away. Seems like it has forgotten the correct tire pressure settings.I cannot find a way to set the target levels. Plan to take to dealer

Don't take it to the dealer. Add air to the tires or reset the tire pressures via the manual procedure and the warnings will go away. The tire pressure warnings are going to be with us for awhile as we get colder ambient temps and the tires were set at higher ambient temps.

Check in settings and make sure it is turned on.....I've had mysterious things changed in settings from time to time. Otherwise, sounds like a trip to the dealer if it does not reset itself overnight.
