Washer Fluid

Do you have to use the Mercedes concentrate for refilling the washer fluid or can you use common washer fluid that you can buy anywhere? Asking for a friend....

You can use anything. But Mercedes dealers will typically top it off for free if you ask. At least mine does.

Quick answer. No. Make sure you put stuff that wont freeze in winter. Otherwise it gets real messy!

I took my S 560 in for routine service a couple of years ago and got charged $7.00 for wiper fluid. I personally filled the tank the day before I had the service done. You couldn’t get a tablespoon more of fluid in. I complained to the service department but was met with something to the effect, oh we would never do that. I let it go figuring it wasn’t worth escalating a $7.00 charge.
