I think it is referring to the tow hook used to tow the car. They typically notify you via the Mercedes App and via mail if you have a recall. I haven't received a message yet.
The towing eye is located in the boot floor. When your car needs to be towed, you remove the towing eye and then screw it into either the front or rear position.
Looks like the receiving end may not have enough thread depth for the towing eye to fully screw in.
I haven't the slightest idea if this affects my '22 450. I don't even know if it has a towing thingy. I neither ordered or paid for one.
Funny how the article emphasises recalls on EVs as if the issue was related to the electric drive or related parts but has no relation to EV things as such.
The tow hood is standard on all Mercedes cars. Never know if you need to help someone else.
