Trunk Lid hitting top

Trunk Lid hitting top
Anyone else having this problem? I open the trunk it ends up hitting the top of the garage door or the overhang in parking garages etc. Is there a way to permanently lock the max height place. I use the stop it doesn't remember the position. Luckily I haven't done any permanent damage due to the PPF. Its the Spoiler that ends up hitting the top. I've covered my garage door with a piece of carpet to avoid damage but I rather lock in the max position if possible.

It's described in detail in the manual. If I recall correctly, you push the stop button at the height you want it set to stop, then hold it in until you hear a tone, then it is done.

Thanks so much for this tidbit, hlothery. My trunk lid has a tiny scratch on it because it was barely hitting a metal piece on the garage door. Your procedure to eliminate this problem worked perfectly.

Is the “Stop button”, the trunk door open/close switch in the driver’s door pocket, that you would push when the lid reaches your desired high point, or the Close button on the trunk lid?
Or something else?

If you look at the lid, the stop button is the close button. The other button has a lock symbol, and is used to close the lid and lock the car. The stop button is the one you use to set the opening limits of the lid. As I said, it is described in detail in the manual. I know, I know.....but I did read it.
