EQS 580
580 Wish List

I've had my 580 about 3 weeks. It's without a doubt the nicest vehicle I've owned (especially after 4 Teslas). Here's a few things that, while not deal breakers, I would change in the car:

Remove the finger slide on the cruise control. short click = one mph, long click (~0.5 second) = 5 mph.
Remove the finger slide on the sound volume: short click = small change, long click (~0.5 second) = mute
I find myself re-checking the new value of both of these when sliding my finger causing me to take my eyes off the road.

When pressing the cruise "distance between vehicles" button have it default to the last setting, not the next setting.

Move the turn signal indicators to the middle of the driver screen.

Default to Recoup braking mode.

Re-invent valet parking mode. Setting this via "Apps" is awkward.

I'm not a fan of the finger slides either. The one I hate the most is the sunroof one. And after that the volume on the center console.

The steering wheel ones would be better as switches, but I find the cruise control one works well. Click for 5mph, slide for 1 mph. I never have problems setting the speed or volume from the steering wheel. I just feel buttons look and work better.

Yeah, I would have included that as well, except the only time I used it was during delivery when my sales rep was showing me how it operated.

Speaking from my 10-month (but low mileage) 450 experience, although I’ve adjusted pretty well, I think, to the cruise control slider, I much prefer buttons. It’s more of a tactile issue than a conceptual one.

Give me two buttons for CC distance, one to increase one to decrease. I don’t want to cycle through.
Default to the drive mode and recoup setting that was set when the car was switched off… i.e. Don’t Default to anything! Leave my settings alone!

I don't mind the cruise control buttons, I just wish that the volume slider operated the same way. A press for an increase rather than sliding would be much better. Also in typical MB fashion, it'd be nice to have a skip track button on the steering wheel rather than setting the middle of the gauge cluster to the media.

I would prefer comfort close doors…..

the steering wheel buttons that change the center of the dash seem to change easily when lightly brushed by my hand near them….constantly changing. Aggravating.
