Seriously… shop several dealers
I decided to trade in my 2022 EQS 450+ for a 2023 EQS 580. I went to Hendrick MB near Charlotte, NC. They offered me $65k for my 3000 mile 450+… I figured that was LOW... they also wanted much over sticker for the 580. I went to South Charlotte MB. Much nicer people to start with. They offered me a realistic $93k for the 450+ and understicker for the 580. I now know who are the good sellers are and who are the greedy vulchers.
Like I said… IT PAYS TO SHOP AROUND.

if you got it before August you still get the $7500 tax rebate and if you got the new one under sticker then your real hit is probably less than 10K, I'm guessing..

Tax credit
Oh well. At least not paying for gas. Whole house is solar… did myself. Bills basically $0.

Solar
Varies seasonally, it is about 20kw. I am grid tie plus some on batteries. Typically about 1500 to 2000 kwh a month. I have losses because not perfectly south… had to go aesthetics of driveway.

Wow. Great story. We know there are some greedy dealers out there but man, that is a huge difference between those two. Is the first dealership just that big with such a large client list that doesn't even bother trying to negotiate? They were trying to take you to the cleaners and then some.

Agree, definitely shop around. Some dealerships are beyond delusional… I have been lurking on this forum for a while. I saw my local dealer MB Plano had an EQS AMG in stock and was curious to see what trade in value would be for my 2022 EQS 580 with less than 2000 miles. So I called, and tada - 100k for my vehicle and 20K mark-up on their vehicle - a delta of 70K. Oh that seems like a great deal. I hope the dealership has best of luck moving the rest of their inventory with the friendly salespeople they hire.

Some dealers forget that when a customer gets a bitter taste from them they rarely go back… no matter what. At least that is me. I bought a 2014 c7 from the local Chevy dealer… and then a 15, 16, 17… then dealer changed hands… over list and greedy. Last I saw of them except to show off new car in their face that they lost the sale on.

100% agree with you. With 6 MB dealers in a 40 mile radius from my house in DFW driving a few miles to save $$$$ in any potential transaction is worth it. Have any forum members placed orders and purchased an eqs in the past month? Wondering the deal climate, most likely cold. I saw cincyMB post about falling demand for the EQS, maybe that will also contribute to low trade in value. In Texas there are a lot of EQS on dealer lots with some new 2022 inventory still not bought.

I’m one of those customers. Years ago at a car show a local BMW dealer (who also sells Mercedes) told me they don’t bring their cars to the show because the cars sell themselves, didn’t need to show them. Really, I said. Also said they don’t discount their cars because again they sell themselves. I said I haven’t bought a car without some discount and he arrogantly said how much did you pay to get into the show. I said $15 and he then proceeded to say he would discount the car $15 for me. Needless to say I never set foot in his dealership. I’m on my 7 th Mercedes since then, all bought at his crosstown rival, including SLK, SL, GLE, S and now EQS models.
