2023 EQS 580 Sedan. Does the glove box lock when initiating valet mode and/or when locking the car?

Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I don't think you can lock the glove box! IMHO this was a major oversight or cost savings measure this is ridiculous. How do we secure driving docs (registration, insurance ID, etc) the we valet park the car? Major door MB!

Paper documents are old school, perhaps the German manufacturer did not think those are important in the US.

What does the valet parking guy do with your registration documents or insurance ID? For us those actual documents have no value. This information can be checked on-line, paper copies are useless in wrong hands.

We hardly use valet parking in Europe, another reason to miss something that is seen important elsewhere.

it gives the valet attendant your home address so that it is know you’re not at home. Also provides personal data for possible identity theft. I’m a big fan of digital data but the USA with 50 driving jurisdictions (states) is a very long way from getting there. A simple consumer survey would have enlightened them. Just last week I had my sun glasses stolen by valet. It’s unfortunate but there are dishonest people out there.

No lock. Neither any of my 4 other benzes.
I have never used a "valet" either other than for a rental.. I've never understood the idea to hand off any car I own, particularly one costing north of 100k, to a total stranger.

hmmm, my guess is that you are not located in North America...just a hunch. This is quite the norm in North America. I have owned 4 MB and every one had a locking glove box except the EQS

He is in Wisconsin.....and i agree with him. There is no way a valet is touching my car.
