It’s always made fiscal sense to me, although KY hasn’t done it yet to my knowledge.
Our Republican-controlled legislature (after 70 years) has concentrated on reducing our income tax and bumping sales taxes, much to the chagrin of our dimocrats.

Definitely agree. The initial irritation is long gone and I have no issue with the fee. Was just surprised at the time of registration. Wouldn’t trade my EQS for anything else right now.

.
In Florida we already pay the government a significant amount of tax on electricity that is almost 20% vs 7% for gasoline excluding federal tax of $0.184 per gallon.
72% of the road funding comes from fuel taxes and related highway revenue.

Its not about punishing people, its about reclaiming revenue the state needs

Do you still need the PeachPass transponder? As an out of State user, I paid my EV "road tax" and have a PeachPass account, could I use the HOV lane?
I can answer this question. You do need a peach pass account. You need to email a copy of your registration showing your AFV tag to info@mypeachpass.com.

Once they register it, they will switch your account to non-toll mode. You still need the transponder. This helps identify your car as one approved for non-toll mode.

LOOOOVE that Coca Cola. My shares are worth an unbelievable multiple of what I paid for them and I get a good yield.

Keep on guzzling, and thanks!
