2023 EQS 580 4Matic SUV
I'm not going to keep track of my miles anymore because there are EA 150/350 kwh stations everywhere in CA. i usually never have to wait to charge while on the road. Tesla on the other hand while charging at the EA station in Baker CA i counted 30 superchargers at the Tesla station and there are at least a dozen more Tesla waiting in line to charge. One Tesla Y came over to the EA station to hook up, he got this big *** adapter hooked up but he was able to charge his Tesla at EA station. Tesla is dropping the price to their CCS adapter so Tesla can charge at any charge stations so im sure we will see Tesla taking over at EA station in the near future. I call Tesla cars **** roaches because they are everywhere LOL

Yep. My nearest and only "fast" Charger is a 50 kw 35 miles away.... I only DC charge on road trips. There are, however, 8 Tesla superchargers about a mile away in a Holiday Inn. Lets see if Tesla converts any of those any time soon. In Wisconsin the Republican legislature is doing its darnest to gum up any electrification plans. Notwithstanding the fact that we have a state surplus of billions.

@ c4004matic, are you sure those Tesla chargers are not Destination Chargers? I've never seen Tesla Super chargers at hotels (Holiday Inn). If there destination chargers you can buy a adapter and charge there if the Holiday Inn will allow you.

100% The "new" (its been a couple years) Holiday Inn Express in Wausau has 8 (at least) Tesla superchargers. They were part and parcel of the hotel construction. They sit mostly empty unless the hotel is full. Given the dearth of fast charging infrastructure in the state and its strategic location smack in the main Interstate crossroad, it would be a perfect spot for Tesla to place some of the first Tesla/CCS chargers. There is an ever increasing number of non tesla EVs in the area.

At Bucees in Temple, exactly half way from San Antonio to DFW, they just installed 40 (yes, 40!) new chargers.....all Tesla Superchargers. I sure wish they were open to us other guys! Maybe soon?

Don't get your hopes up. We just gave tesla 7 billion. And I think they are still playing coy about how many CCS chargers and where they will be. When I read the agreement and saw that they were including destination chargers in the number I smelled a rotten rat in the deal. We can already use any destination chargers with an adapter, just like they can use any CCS including DC fast charging... Ergo BS from the get go. Im amazed that the Feds setting up the deal were that clueless.

I have experienced similar numbers. I think that’s a good estimate. I drove Jacksonville to Orlando and back last week. First trip so far. With 5 of us in the car and light bags driving 75-80 (80 degrees outside) I could only get about 300 miles on a full charge. I used 58% charge to drive 165 miles. Trip normally takes 2:30 but this time it took 3:20. I ran into a lot of traffic on I-95 due to spring breakers and Daytona bike week festivities. I connected to an EA charger (mbux communicated flawlessly with charger) but on a 350kw I could only get 38kw. The transaction does not appear in Mercedes me connect app.

2.64 vs 3.25 EPA rated mpkWh. Plenty warm outside. Speed is a killer on EV range.

If you see this, try a different dispenser, or the other cable on the one you're using. This is a symptom of a cable cooling fault.

It’s a totally different picture with frigid temperatures colder than 20 degrees F. Under those conditions I get about 280-300 miles. If it’s close zero F, the range is diminished even more. The colder it is the less the range. c4004matic pointed out that if you set the climate control to ECO+ the range increases substantially even if the seat is being heated at max level. The heated seat does very little to reduce the range.
Absolutely agree with AppleFan, we’ve had our 2023 EQS 580 (20” wheels) since January and never get less than 400+ miles (usually 450+) whether charged to 100% (infrequently) or extrapolated out from 80% (frequently). Usual protocol for driving is Strong Recuperation, ECO mode drive, ECO mode A/C, and Active Cruise all the time and that protocol does not affect comfort levels. And in Sport mode it’s no slouch! It’s probably the best car I’ll ever own and I have a 2021 E63S AMG wagon in our garage. The ride in the EQS is magic carpet level, not quite Citroen DS21 level but nothing will ever top that.

The biggest killer is speed. Keep in at 70 or less and you will maximize your range. 75 plus and your range will plummet significantly. In winter I keep my speed at 65. Doing so and the heat in eco plus I still get 275 miles in temperatures way below below zero. Even in eco plus the cabin stays at 65 degrees or so. May be cold for some, but when its -20 outside it s perfectly fine. I 90 around Chicago runs around 80-90mph but at least there are plenty of chargers.

2022 EQS 450+ Pinnacle
Just back from an 835 mile round trip drive in my 450+ with 21” wheels. Temperatures in the South (metro ATL to N. Myrtle Beach) on I20 were between 75F-89F and there aren’t too many changes in elevation. With a boot full of luggage and 3 adult passengers, adaptive cruise set between 78-80 MPH, I was able to keep an expected range of just about 400 miles. 1 stop in each direction to charge to 80% and arrived at each destination with over 100 mile range to spare. I definitely can’t complain about that. Historically, when I set crust to 75MPH, I am achieving a range of 420-440 miles. Around town (speeds under 50MPH, stop n go traffic), I am well over 450 miles.
Love this EQS.
