That's as may be - it certainly appeals to my wife and me. Still, I face the possibility of having to replace my Cardinal Red '22 450+and there just aren't very many around that match its interior and very limited factory options. I found one in NJ, but it has the Piano Black on the console, and that's not acceptable.

I have a phone call in to my dealer, MB Cincy,, to check on possible delivery dates. If one could be found here,of course it would be available, if needed, much more quickly.. I'd think a proper match might be priced to reflect the depreciation, but you never know.

Why replace your 2022, and why limited options? IMHO, the options are what makes the car, and it doesn't add relatively that much more to the cost. Of course I understand everyone has their own opinion and needs/wants.

My reasons are unimportant, circumstantial, and irrelevant to my quest.

Between your review of previous posts and your imagination, I'm sure you could come up with some ideas.

If you have allowed yourself to be annoyed, that's your problem, not mine.

And, it 's no more self-indulgent than your lobbing opprobrious remarks at someone else in a moment of pique.

How do you get an 11yr warranty? Are the warranty expensive to buy? I'm looking for a used 450. Worried the repair are going to be crazy expensive

Thanks

The short answer is contact Trent at Highline Autos. I'll post his contact information in below. The long answer is there are companies out there willing to write long term service contracts on most cars. Apparently the math works for the policy writer most of the time, as there are a lot of companies willing to sell them, and dealers love to sell them. However, we're not talking about a Honda here. One visit to the dealer could easily cover the entire cost of the warranty (I paid like $7500 for 11 years/120,000 miles). I have no idea why anyone would want to warranty an immensely complex car full of ultra expensive parts. Can you imagine what a few repairs and modules will cost in year 2031? The last contract I purchased for an out of warranty Mercedes paid for itself plus 100% in the first 2 months.

I exhaustively researched before I bought. Most products out there are terrible, and you want nothing to do with them. Many will only pay out the NADA wholesale current value of the car, and if your car is older that might come really quick. Some have bunches of exclusions that are important, some are well know to deny almost all claims. The previous policy I purchased is no longer available (maybe someone lost their job for writing that policy?). However, I did more looking around and found Trent, on other forums here at MB World. In today's world of quiet quitting, Trent is a rare person who actually quickly answers emails, and provides full answers to whatever you are asking. His contract and pricing is as good as any that I've looked at, and it should be as good as the one I previously bought for a different MB. He's not my first cousin or something...I don't know him other than doing business with him, but I have just been really impressed. His info is below...

Having just replaced my '22 450+ with a '23 580, I have noticed a few changes. I was stuck on an old firmware and my service advisors told me there wasn't anything newer. The new MBUX has some significant improvements, including the media control on the Zero surface. I can more easily change between Sirius favorites without having to go into the radio app. There are some new animations, too.

Working on Build Order for a '23 Cardinal Red 450V4; production to begin in April. Anybody want to enter a sweepstakes as to delivery date to me from MBCincy?
Interesting that Ambient Lighting was standard factory equipment on the '22 models, but a $590 option on the '23. I'll pass on it for nearly $600.00.

The $590 charge is for the active ambient lighting. Regular ambient lighting is standard. It was the same on the 2022s.

Having gone from a '22 450+ with standard ambient to a '23 580 with active ambient, I wouldn't spend the extra money on active ambient. I wish it was more functional, such as lighting up in the direction of cars/obstacles in my blind spot. It will flash if I turn on the directional while a car is in my blindspot - but the car already beeps and has a light on the mirror that does that. Mostly, active ambient just rotates the color around the car.

When I ordered my 580 sedan in 2021, active ambient lighting was not available. I didn’t get a build date till the 23 models came out. By that time active ambient lighting was available, but my salesman didn’t tell me until after my order was locked. At first I was a bit upset, but after having the car for 2 months I’m glad I didn’t order it. Regular lighting is fine for me as well.

The one feature that doesn't seem to be too common, which should be on every car shipped to the west and south, is the double-pane windows with infrared blocking. I had to install window tinting on my 450+ because of all of the heat coming through the windshield. Heat means running the AC and ventilation at higher levels, using more energy while producing more noise.

Does anyone know if there are any other discounts that are available at the dealership? Any help appreciated.
Please don't buy it!! This think will be selling for 30k in 2 years.

Before leasing one, I also used to think the outside appearance was horrible. Now 1.5 weeks into my lease, I think the appearance is the best feature of it. The tech and build quality are the unappealing features.

Not sure why everyone is so surprised. Depreciating like a rock is the MB way... My GTS cost me 137K when I purchased it six months later it was worth $95K. My C63 sedan cost me 90K when I went to trade it in on my EQE in Jan the dealer offered me 50K, I kept it. Unless you have one of those unicorn MB's dropping like a rock is BAU. There is only one thing that drops faster than MB value and that is MB AMG values ROFL... dont buy these cars if you plan to trade them in... JMHO.

Today while the dealer had my EQS 450 for troubleshooting the battery issue, I received a notification from the mercedes app, says collision detected, damage slight impact. That's certainly not going to improve the resale value. On one hand I am glad the dealer was able to start it and drive it. On the other hand, looks like they backed into something in the service bay.

Its probably just being jacked or put on the lift. Half the collision detected notifications are usually just false warnings.

I hope so. So the collision detection sensors and notifications are only 50% accurate?
