Formula One is even moving to zero emission sustainable low carbon synthetic fuel by 2027...

What are the SUV prices looking like. My dealer in Las Vegas claims that he has price movement on the sedans, but the SUV's are selling very well at MSRP.

Magno, I have an SUV 580 on order, and I'm due to take deliver in approximately 2 weeks (it's on the train). I'm gonna buy it either way. Just looking for some info to see if I have any bargaining leverage.

If it gets here before the end of the month, it will be more favorable to you. There is a sales program for EQ's this month. What spec are you expecting? I can do a pretty substantial discount that might make it worth your while.

Yes, Mercedes is pushing EQ right now. But not a lot of EQE in stock. I have 1 amg EQE and 1 EQE500, willing to deal on both if interested. There is a $1500 conquest rebate right now as well, if you own another plug in vehicle or plug in hybrid (non mercedes) you qualify

Stay in my Lane

You got jokes...lol

Actually built my home 20-years ago with construction loan to get out of paying PMI. Not a good time to upgrade in today's Market with rising interest rates; reminds me of the summer of 2008 when home values started to plummet and home owners were upside down and later walked away from their mortgages. Bank Loan Officers lost their jobs and remember some who worked as Hotel Shuttle Bus drivers when I commuted to LAX from ELP every week 2008-2011. Fortunately moved most of my 401K to an annuity that had a guaranteed 7% rate. Investment doubled by 2019 the year that I retired.

I still have some TSLA stock left after using some profit to fund AMG Wagon purchase two years ago. Tesla had come to Raytheon's El Segundo campus in 2008 to showcase their Tech. They snagged some of our Engineering Talent. Rivian also snagged some of my former coworkers who were bought out when the the Defense Budget was cut. Bought RIVN recently on the dip. This morning GM announced that it is giving buyouts to most of its Global White Collar workforce as it transitions to a Total EV product line. Employees will receive up to a 12-month severance package that will cost the company $1.5 Billion.

Not an EV hater I just think some are overpriced especially since it takes a fraction of the amount of time to build them on the assembly line versus ICE. My wife liked the 2012 Chevy Volt that I charged in the garage every night and never used a drop of gasoline with its 34-mile battery range. Later bought the Honda CRZ Hybrid with a rare 6-speed manual transmission. Drove that thing to the Permian Basin Oilfields 250-miles away...Oil Workers thought I was nuts but didn't care because it was FUN to drive! After retirement from the Oilfields and driving Peterbuilt, KW, and Mack Diesel Trucks up to 14-hours a day to fund Daughter's $72K MIT tuition, traded CRZ hybrid on a 2020 CRV hybrid that the wife currently drives at Georgia Residence. That Honda E will not be available for Sale in the States but looks like it is hoot to drive...maybe would trade the Ducati in on it - would be safer in the two college towns that I live in. The VW ID.4 is affordable too as well as the upcoming ID.Buzz.

Would never buy the wife any EV that GM puts out in the future. GM cares more about short term profits than making quality EVs. Was angered when Mary Bara shut down Holden Operations in Australia. Those employees knew how to make quality ICE Muscle Cars! I had 4 from 2004-2017 that I used my GM Employee Discount to purchase. In the long-term would short GM stock. The Company VinFast out of Vietnam seems like a good EV play for the future. They made an excellent BMW X5 Clone for a few years. I worked with many skilled Vietnamese Techs who were adept at producing Electro-Optical Sensors and Lasers on the Factory floor. I'm sure VinFast EVs will be a success.

Zero emissions in which way? Surely any synthetic fuel would produce CO2 from an ICE. Probably zero emission in the sense that production of this fuel uses more energy than the product gives on an engine but if the CO2 was collected from air and if the energy for the production was green (wind, solar etc.) this could be considered zero emission. Not practical for all cars even if ignoring the cost. If all fuel was produced this way, the total production of electricity would have to be multiplied.

An EQS is a much more realistic zero emission car than any F1 with synthetic zero emission fuel.

Most mushrooms can't feel the difference between ICE and their heavier EV counterparts. The EV might be more realistic for them including my wife when her 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid AWD expires. I can feel the difference on my Ducati and V8s when tire pressure is down by just 1psi. Hopefully if Hydrogen Fuel Cell tech is adopted in future sporty sedans and coupes like my old WRX, GTO, 3 Camaros, and 4 Holden Commodores I might purchase one before I turn 75. A manual transmission would be welcomed. The AMG E63s wagon is heavy but still more fun to drive than the 7 SUVs that my wife has driven since 1996. Otherwise will be a passenger in the wife's Hybrid or EV SUV with its higher center of gravity and boat anchor for a battery pack that gives me no joy to drive after I pull out from the Driveway. Would rather take a Motor Coach, Amtrak, or your high speed TGV and look out the window or at the pretty ladies in my retirement.

Why would you be hoping for a hydrogen fuel cell when you already mentioned the best possible alternative, F1-style sustainable fuels? That seems to be much more likely since it has the potential to be a drop-in replacement. They'll be limited in use because of high cost and I wouldn't be surprised if overall efficiency is less than gas. But at least we know the distribution infrastructure and the engines and powertrains already have 100 years of optimization behind them.

Almost everything seems to be stacked against widespread use of hydrogen fuel cells. They require expensive metals and mining, most hydrogen production today is from fossil fuels, and they have almost no current distribution infrastructure. And for the enthusiast, they are essentially battery powered which means there's no vroom vroom and no manual transmission.

But kudos for getting that CRZ. I really wanted one back then but was always hoping Honda made a CR-Z Si.

Right and the issue is that the collected C02 will get put back into the atmosphere, which while better than not using collected CO2 it's not as good as keeping it out. Without digging into it, I suspect like with hydrogen, it's not as energy efficient as directly supplying the green electricity to the EV. Not that EV's don't have a way to go as far as improving storage density and charging rates but I think that will be improving with the next advance in solid state batteries. Also I get Drones point about cost of EV production which I think is getting offset by the current battery costs.

BTW we dipped our toes into the EV experience by purchasing a KIA Niro EV this week.

Had the EX Spec and of course upgraded the rubber to stickier high performance summer tires. I used to destroy Mustang GTs with my more nimble CRZ going downhill from the Guadalupe Mountain Pass which is the highest Peak in Texas. Honda had a Supercharger Kit for the CRZ that the Dealer would install so you could create your own CRZ-Si...

Proposed Synthetic sustainable F1 fuel would be preferred but would need many gallons to travel the 1500-miles between NM and GA. I'm sure that Race Blend is going to very Expensive and "Our Government" might relegate it for "Track Use Only". Will enjoy what I have for now and downsize when wife eventually transfers to the Washington DC USDA Headquarters. Will have to end my Wild West Lifestyle, sell my Toys, get a Metrocard, and maybe increase my Chess Federation Rating that has been inactive for nearly 45-years.

Off Topic is my middle name...

In 2020 followed orphaned Chess Prodigy Beth Harmon...lol

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy with her expressive Anime looks is a favorite amongst my buddies I go shooting with since her breakout movie Split.

Couldnt believe Magnus got beat by a bunch of sixteen year old boys. I stopped playing in tournaments when started dating my first GF who attended Bronx H.S. of Science. Suddenly Chess became less important. I'm sure those Sixteen year olds will lose focus too...lol

Of course started following Chess with Bobby Fisher from Brooklyn, NY. Once he defeated Boris Spassky in 1972 was the beginning of the end of the Cold War. My Daughter recently visited Iceland last month.

Was more impressed when Gary Kasparov defeated Deep Blue in 1996 before losing the next year to that IBM Computer. Met my nemesis at Carnegie-Mellon the summer of 1977. I would still be playing both Golf and Chess if we hadn't met. She is now a multi millionaire living in San Diego.

Mercedes should upgrade the Hyperscreen in the EQS and EQE with a Chess Program so occupants in the Future can play Chess when the EV becomes fully autonomous. I would only play Hyper-Benz-Taylor-Joy when parked outside my Favorite Crab Cake, Lobster Roll, and Chinese Restaurants on the East Coast.

I started my interest in Chess (and many other hobbies) while I was in secondary school (ie junior high and high school in the US system). Stopped playing after college as work life was just too demanding.

Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess was my first chess book. Bobby was so talented. Perhaps he had too much talent that he lost his mind soon and became a lunatic.

I still have a few dozens chess books in my library. Most are outdated now as I, more or less, stopped buying after the Karpov era.
My most precious collection of chess related items is a 1974 Nice chess olympiad official chess set with the official chess board. Probably not too monetary valuable but it was one of my chess dreams came true....lol

Anyway, with the current Hyperscreen and Superscreen (in the incoming new E-Class W214), one can access the internet and there are already many online AIs that can play chess with you and they can beat the **** out of you easily.

Never got a brutal beating yet from a Chess Program...last played at work 20+ years ago on Expert Level but it was CD based not AI. Other Engineers and Techs were not really a challenge since they were locals...there is a reason why the Aliens landed in Roswell in 1947. Sure that AI might best me especially since lost some brain cells drinking in the Man Cave to temporarily escape the Reality of the Wife and Kids after 1999. Garage was wired for Satellite and Fridge kept the Beer Ice Cold...

Hopefully prices keep dropping for Evs otherwise the Wife will never purchase one with a Hyper or Superscreen when her 2020 CRV Hybrid expires. The Hybrid battery in my 2012 CRZ manual was never replaced. Lasted a good 8+ years before traded in for current CRV Hybrid.

I also reside in Las Vegas and just struck a frankly insane lease deal with a California dealership. DM me if interested. You will pay 2x as much with Fletcher Jones. I might even go for a second one.
