Iphone/MBUX bug DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Help! The most annoying bug has appeared out of nowhere.
When my iPhone connects to MBUX, it launches Music and starts playing even though the car is on a different audio source. The music is "playing" on the phone but isn't heard anywhere -- the phone is sending it to the car and the car is ignoring it.
1. I do not use Apple CarPlay.
2. Phone is running IOS 16.3.1
The only solution I've found so far is to increase the dosage of my antidepressant, but I don't think that's a longterm fix.

This is somewhat of a known issue and by design to some extent. iOS automatically starts playing music when connected to BT, but I'm not fully understanding under what circumstances. If you google something like "iphone automatically starts playing music when connected to Bluetooth" you'll find a bunch of suggestions for how to make it stop. One culprit seems to be the Handoff feature. So if you were listening to music on the phone at one point, it hands it off to a BT audio device when a connection is established.
I've deleted the Music app from my iPhone altogether as I don't use any of the Apple music services. I use Pandora mainly for streaming music and if I've recently listened to it, then it resumes in the car, but only if I have BT audio selected as the audio source. Otherwise it pauses playback.

This won't make you feel any better, but you are not the only one with this issue and it has nothing to do with MBUX. It's a behavior of the iPhone and happens in other cars as well. Haven't really read of a clear solution to make it stop other than deleting the Music app. Seems like a bunch of suggestions are floating out there, but none of them work consistently.
