I did it on mine. But at the dealer. Cost was like 700 euros for the grill and 600 more for the change.

thank you for your information
so I am guessing it is very straight forward, no recalibrate needed?

I think they claimed 3 hours working time. So not sure if you call that straight forward. On the receipt it says only a short check was performed. No recalibration mentioned.
I any way believe that the front camera auto calibrates itself every time it is started. I only one time had the funny incident that the front camera image was stitched into the 360° surround image rotated by 180 degrees, see the photos.
Luckily the EQS has no autopilot like Tesla, otherwise it would try to evade a tree on the left which it sees upside down on the right by steering left and crashing right into it...

straight forward is like just remove some bolts without removing bumper or recalibration. Unplug all sensors are not too bad, but remove bumper is something I wouldn’t do. Just need to check how much space there for my hand to work on it. Thank you for your info, really helpful.

I am also looking to change the EQS 580 SUV grille. Does anyone know how to remove the original. My local shop is usually backed up, and would like to do the job myself.

There may be some airbag sensors that need to be deactivated or at least handled carefully.

Thank you for your answer. I definitly don't want to mess with airbags. Sounds like something to let the shop handle.

you need to remove the front bumper. there is no air bag sensors but many ultrasound sensors easy to remove.
SA quote 3 hr labors. but SA also said he recommend just go to bodyshop for 1/5 of the price. I am too lazy and just tell him to do it. about 1600. I should just buy a amg53.....

Let me know if you find instructions. I need to replace my front 360 camera on the emblem. I wanted to see if the disassemble can be a diy.

I think for your case is easier than I thought before.
here is what I would do if I were you

1. open the hood
2. unbolt and remove the light bar.

from here you can see your radar behind the mercedes star. you might able to turn the star that big round plate and remove from the grill.
you should able to unplug the connector and see if you can remove the lens.

I am not sure that not open the hood allows you to turn the star. normally counterclockwise to remove it from the grill. check YouTube to see if other class did it before

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to get the hood open, remove any bolts and light bar. As for the back side of the emblem, the EQS as the flat MB star, and I saw other tubers having to unclip it (instead of turning clockwise) from the backside. I think it will depend on how much room I have once I remove the light bar. My other challenge is probably keeping the hood open since there's no struts.

I took few photos for you. It looks like turn and also clip. I tried to remove the grill before, I stopped before disconnecting camera because the notice I can’t do this alone within 2 hr. I use a 3 iron to keep the hood open but yeah it is one big problem to keep it open

So what is everybody that's switching their grills for the AMG version doing with their old one??? There are some of us that have early 2023's (non-AMD's) that came with a plain black grill without the 'stars'..... Just askin' for a friend.

if it's a lease, do you have to switch your grille back before you return your car?

depends on the dealer which inspect your car. some dealer doesnt care but some do. for BMW dealer, my M5 has front lip side skirt and diffuser and trunk lip, one dealer ask me to take it off or charge me 1000 per one mod. another dealer just dont care, said they will buy the car and with those mod they can sell more $$ to next customer.

Someone please let me know when a starfield grille becomes available like the original design prototype.

I probably would have paid a lot more for the prototype body styling than what I paid for my EQS. The bean counter probably had a lot to say.
