Delete user profile
Hello. I bought a used eqs450 yesterday. The previous owner's user profile is still there. Is there a way to delete that profile? It is protected with a pin so I cannot access it to delete it (if that's the proper way to do it). Is this something I need to go to the dealer to have reset? I'm still learning all of it so I'm sure more questions will arise. Thanks in advance!

Best way is to have dealer to reset the Mercedes me that link to this vin. When I bought my 2nd Eqs locally, sales set it up through their system. The only thing I did is change the profile name.

Have you had a MB dealership sales person transfer the vehicle to your Mercedes me account? This has to be done by a dealership as it requires proof of ownership. The profiles you see in the car sync from the Mercedes me account, so sounds like the vehicle is still linked to the previous owner's account and not yours. Once the vehicle has been transferred to your account it should sync your profile to the car and remove the previous owner's profile. There should be a setting in MBUX to enable the automatic syncing of the profiles. Make sure that's turned on. You may also wanna perform a factory reset in MBUX to get all of the previous owner's data cleared out.

Yes. Previous Owner's name still appears on it. I spoke with Mercedes Me about it. Just gotta be put on the schedule to get it done. Hopefully I find a knowledgeable person who can handle it. Thanks again for the help!

If your Mercedes me account is set up and the vehicle is showing up correctly in the app and syncing its status, then likely all that may be required is a factory reset of MBUX to clear out the old data. You can do that yourself. The factory reset option is under the system settings.

they have a tech on each dealer, a sales can do that too. You don’t need to go to dealer, since you just buy the car, sales will still help you and he can just update your Mercedes me account. Less than 5 min work. But will take about an hr to see the update

UPDATE: Went to the dealership and the person was extremely knowledgeable and fast. He verified that I am the owner of the vehicle and was able to remove the previous owner's profile and add mine. So far, I am enjoying all the features of the car. Can't wait to see what else I discover. Thanks again for the help!
