Aint no way a 450 or 580 is giving this? I put on 21" wheels from 20" wheels and I lost 50 miles to the tank lol. You must have 15" wheels!

2022 EQS 450+
I regularly see maximum range estimates in the mid to high 500s on the Mercedes Me app, but they are typically overstated by at least 20% as compared to my actual range results. That having been said, I am absolutely astounded by my car's (450+sedan) range and efficiency. I regularly get real world 4.2 miles per kwh, which is better than my last most efficient EV, a Tesla Model 3 which got about 4 miles per kwh.

I am a very easy driver, never mash the accelerator, and always use the "hold" feature when stopped at traffic lights because even when the car comes to a stop, the battery can still be draining if the brake pedal isn't fully depressed.

Overall, I think the vehicle's rangevand efficiency are its primary strengths, at least for my use case. YMMV

If you are just putzing around town you can post big range numbers which will go away quickly if you get on the highway.

I got 4.7mpkWh today on the way home from the golf course, in traffic, and using strong regen. But I never get the predicted numbers described by the OP here....I can get around 400 predicted miles at 90%, but that is all. I have a 450+ also. But, hit 80 mph around Austin going to DFW, and you'll find that predicted mileage is way off from reality. Thank goodness for the Level 3 chargers at WalMart in Waco. Around town, though, in traffic....magic!

I posted the estimates because I believed them to be complete nonsense. This occurred the first time I opened the Mercedes me app after the latest update. I have never got close to those ranges. My car had been sitting unused for the last two weeks in my garage in SE Florida. I have gotten estimates in the high 300’s but nothing ever as high as these numbers. They haven’t changed since they first appeared. For those interested, after sitting for a little over two weeks, my SOC decreased by 1%.

The highest range I would have gotten with 100% SOC would have been 480 miles if I kept driving around the city last summer. I own the EQS580 with 21 inch wheels.

Yeah something is mucked up with that estimate. Assuming the correct 100% capacity that would translate to 6.1 mpkWh. I don't know the algorithm that they use ie how long a period it captures for the mpkWh but you would have to be going downhill for a period of time to even get that kind of number so then it makes me wonder what it thinks 100% SOC is in terms of battery capacity.

EQS owners are just extra special. Even the entertainment system in an EQS goes all the way up to 11. I can only crank the tunes in my EQE up to 10.

Our eqs has now become primarily a weekend car. Is it ok to only charge it to 60% and leave it unplugged weeks at a time? If we do road trips, we'll bump it up to 90%. But most of the time it's sitting in the garage at 60% unplugged.

Ideally it might be sitting around 50% rather than 60% but it's perfectly fine as long as it doesn't drop below 20% before you charge it. I manage my wife's EV similarly. I charge it to 50% for her daily commute then charge it to 90% for when she goes to see her mom which requires around 65% round trip.

I don’t understand why some of you say that you only use the EQS in the city or only on weekends. I have taken my EQS580 on a 1400 mile round trip from Des Moines to Akron, OH and back twice in 2022. One of the trips was in frigid cold around Christmas time. I had no problem at all finding enough EA charging stations along I-80 to charge my car. It cost $0. Perhaps, I’m lucky that there are enough EA chargers on I-80. In the near future, there will be a lot more EA chargers installed all over country.

It definitely depends on where you live. This poor guy had to pray to the EV gods for power:

I'm actually thinking of going from Dallas to Memphis on my upcoming road trip (Houston, TX to Knoxville, TN) so I can avoid The Great Southern Charging Desert completely. It'll add miles but considering how much time I'm going to have to waste charging I guess I'm not going to be in a rush anyways.

Yeah so I had MB Connect reset their services and I got on the app I will be getting 649 miles on a charge.... but it quickly dipped to 595 after first drive. I think it is an app glitch.

I think the app is not working for range. Mine was fine until late last week. All of a sudden it showed -532 miles when charged to 80%. I bet that minus sign is a clue that it’s not working. I don’t recall a minus sign when it was working properly. I’m sure MB is aware of it and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Agree, something is wrong, as mine has suddenly caught this disease....showing max range of 636 miles. Would that that was true.....

This is the bug in the app. IF you look at the top section of the dashboard page, it shows the true/real range. Also if you change the unit in setting, it shows the correct range in km in the bottom section too. Some programmer messed up km to mile conversion in the range calculation of the charging/battery section of the app. The issues is for iPhone app only. My buddy has the Android app and that is still accurate
