Observations after MBUX software upgrade to E330
While in the middle of a long driving trip from Georgia > Indiana > Ohio > Georgia I got the first time got two different messages:
1) Interior assistant function limited, see owner’s manual (I couldn’t figure out which IA functions were limited because the hand gestures contributed to work).
2) Sensors dirty so adaptive cruise shut itself off for about 30 minutes before another message appeared stating that sensors were again available. This happened twice.
3) Multicolour interior lighting still shows all of the options but several do not match the icon and one has disappeared completely (2 of the different choices yield the same colour pattern of purple and orange and Malibu Sunset is actually the button to the right of the icon…can’t remember the name of the colour which no longer shows when it’s icon is depressed but it might have been purple/pink/blue).
4) MBUX rebooted itself several times after coming off of an EA supercharger although I have seen some similar glitches when I had version E316 prior to the upgrade. I am not sure what it is about topping the vehicle off at a high speed charger that makes the MBUX act wonky, even if only temporarily.
5) I do now show Dolby Atmos as an option on online music Carplay although the sound doesn’t sound different to me as I already have the custom audio and surround settings tuned to my liking.
6) Zero layer icons appear somewhat different and the home screen icons pop up with a different organisation (ie media icons appear in a different format vs prior to upgrade).
Overall nothing crazy but a few quirks. I am still pretty happy that, even through mountain passes on I65 and I24, cruise control set at 78-80 MPH, I am still seeing a range of just about 400 miles. 10450 miles currently on my 2022 EQS 450+ with 21” tyres.
Experience with EA chargers has been adequate on the trip as well but really dependent upon the individual station. Always several chargers are unavailable and down but I haven’t had to wait yet as I can either get on a 150kW Ultra or 350kW Hyper charger with a charging rate of 80 to 175 kW.
Cheers!
Your car is getting fantastic range at such high speeds.
I keep highway speeds between 65 and 70mph to eek out the most range, but it looks like I don't have to.
The forward/back arrows next to the home button are also much larger and easier to press.
All told, I ended up with a range of about 400 miles with the cruise pegged at 78-80mph although there were several traffic slowdowns on I75 and I64 that may have skewed that. The only error I saw was a repeat of the limited availability of the interior assistant and the dirty sensor warning that caused ACC to not work for about 10 min before it resolved itself. We were driving through a deluge at the time of this last warning so that may have contributed.
1500 mile round trip in the books and love the EQS! Now we are considering moving my wife from her Wagoneer to an EQS SUV or iX but fear that range anxiety on longer trips. Maybe we end up with a PHEV SUV.
EQS 450+ / EQE
1. Update Electric Drivetrain,
2. Update ESP control and
3. Update driver assist software.
The Software Version (under Info) on the Car screen shows RL_NTG7_E250.503_21451AC3. What does this refer to?
It had 2 Over the Air updates for Driver assistance (5/16/23) and Comm Module (3/28/23).
I assume these are now the latest versions. Correct?
MBUX feels much smoother now, there are a few new settings available and the design has changed slightly in some places here and there e.g. the buttons from the lower climate line that is constantly visible, etc.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the instrument cluster views after the update, the instrument cluster needs a separate update, in older EQE/EQS some things are slightly different, for example, the battery level indicator is missing the percentage at the bottom left or in the Navi-, Assistance- and Service view is a power bar at the bottom right, where the bar does not move and only constantly displays Max Power.

Wondering if anyone has had success getting a dealership to update the instrument cluster? Complaining about occasional hangups was what got my dealership to approve the software update on the center display.

The car no longer turns off on its own. And you now must turn the car off when you exit.
Prev software. If you put the car in park and leave it on the car will shut off after a few minutes. This was annoying if you were still sitting in the car or if you exited the car but left passengers in the car. The car would turn off as well as turn off the A/C.
If you were sitting in the car you could enable the A/C with the car off but the A/C will eventually turn off again after ~30mins or so.
Now the car will stay on no matter what, I am not sure if its indefinite but today I sat in the car for almost 2hrs with no interruption.
Prev software. If you exited the car with the car was still on, you could lock the doors and the car would turn off and lock the doors.
Even if you exited with the car on and forgot to lock the car. The car would turn off but the doors would remain unlocked.
Now the car will not allow you to lock the doors if the car is still on. You must go back inside turn the car off and only then can you lock the car.

The interface was slightly updated and seems a touch smoother. The buttons don't seem to be any bigger, just a little different looking. The new features I noticed so far is under the welcome light projections, there is an option to upload a photo in the app, but I couldn't actually find the option to upload photos in the app. I also noticed Google place details shows up on nav.
I believe I did get the update mentioned in the press release, but not a lot of the new features mentioned applied to my car:
