Time in shop for software upgrade?

The paperwork showed 5 update actions. 4 were software I think and 1 was pillows
Software update campaign
No noticeable changes in the limited time that I've driven it. MBUX is unchanged at RL_NTG7_E330.602_23063AC3. No signs of Dolby Atmos or Zync anywhere in the UI. Drive mode changes no longer trigger a sound effect and it appears the interior sounds are louder even in Comfort mode.
Pillow campaign
Got the two rear lumbar pillows "installed". They are plush and made of the same alcantara material the headrest pillows are made of. That said, they are rather small and dont come with any way to secure them from movement. If you hit the brakes, you get two very plush projectiles. Ended up securing them using the seat belts. These pillows are now my "passengers".
MB software architecture sucks
The night after I picked the car up from the shop, the instrument cluster started rebooting about once a minute, even while driving. This has happened before, but only about once a month. I returned the car to the dealer the next day and no codes, no errors, but there was a software update for the instrument cluster. The update also replaced the "MAX" range on the left side with a percentage SOC indicator. No telling if this fixed it, but I find it frustrating that the campaign procedure calls for a XENTRY update of "All control units", but apparently missed the instrument cluster. It brings me back to my earlier quote about BMW software architecture being a complete vehicle integration vs. piecemeal.

I understand your frustration with the extended service time for a software upgrade on your 2022 580 EQS. While it's not uncommon for software updates to take some time, prolonged delays can be understandably frustrating. Several factors can contribute to such delays:
1. Complexity of the Upgrade: Some software updates are more complex and time-consuming than others, especially if they involve major changes or improvements to the vehicle's systems.
2. High Demand: If many vehicle owners are scheduling software upgrades at the same time, it can strain service centers and lead to longer waiting times.
3. Technical Issues: Sometimes, software updates encounter technical issues or glitches during the installation process, requiring additional time for troubleshooting and resolution.
4. Dealer Resources: The availability of skilled technicians and resources at the dealership can also impact service times.
It's important to remember that software updates are critical for keeping your vehicle's systems up to date and ensuring optimal performance and safety. While it can be frustrating to experience delays, they are often a part of the process.
If you have concerns about the service provided or if you believe there are repeated delays due to service center issues, it's advisable to communicate your concerns with the dealership. They may provide you with more information about the specific reasons for the delay and what steps are being taken to address it.
Mercedes-Benz is known for its engineering excellence, and software updates are an essential part of modern vehicle maintenance. While software updates are necessary to enhance and maintain your vehicle's performance and safety, it's reasonable to expect timely and efficient service from the manufacturer and their dealerships.
I hope your software upgrade is completed successfully, and you can continue to enjoy your 2022 580 EQS. If you have any further concerns or questions, don't hesitate to contact the dealership for clarification and assistance. If you need information about changing the software and hardware services please consult Psee solutions which is a valuable IT services company that helps in IT SOlutions.
