Connected Traffic Light

Has the connected traffic light service been phased out?

It shows “available to purchase” in the app, but it’s not in the store.

it used to work.

for some reason I don’t see this in my list of services - not sure if it require additional hardware or it’s just software thing

How much is it?

Thats funny that they took away a feature only to bring it back and make us pay for it.
Mercedes is getting ridiculous with this stuff. WTF

Is this have anything to do with the traffic light camera that comes up on my screen when I’m stopped first at a traffic light. It doesn’t do anything on my car except show a picture of the traffic lights.

No, that is "Traffic Light View", a different feature.

It is believed that "Connected Traffic Light" has been discontinued.

nope, that is traffic light view. This connected traffic light is basically a service that shows how many seconds the light turns green so you can pace it enough to hopefully reach the intersection when the lights are green so you don't have to stop at a traffic light. What you were talking is basically camera turning on to show you the traffic light in front, useful in Europe as an example when lights are either all the way to the right or on top of the vehicle. In the USA, it is directly in front so it isn't as useful.

I am guessing they decided to bring it back but change for it then.

This is part of the MBUX 2.4 software update features. Mercedes started rolling out the software upgrade via OTA in the U.S. this week.

Before you post and make definitive statements -do your research! It is contained in the 223 forum which also is getting the 2.4 update.

thanks for the file but I still don’t see anywhere talking about “Connected Traffic Light” - for this feature, the car has to have the necessary hardware to communicate with traffic lights (where it’s available), similar to Audi and other car manufacturers- Mercedes initially rolled out in some countries but then was disabled and now I don’t think software update can enable this feature where the hardware is not available- I would like to see if anyone who has EQS has received this feature as result of this update!

You're wrong. It uses the stereoscopic camera, gps data, and the same equipment as the other traffic sign assist features. Further, some jurisdictions stop lights are compatible and some are not. That is another reason why it works sometimes by not other times-i.e. nothing to do with the automobile. In NC, Greensboro stoplights have the feature but Charlotte stop lights generally do not.

Do you think it is coincidence that Mercedes is in the process of rolling out this new feature and the option is now available through Mercedes Me. What other hardware do you think would be needed? What do you think is meant by "traffic light assist" - is it different then "traffic sign assist"

If you don't believe what is provided by Mercedes there is nothing I can probably tell you that will change your mind. But for all others it is part of the 2.4 update as it indicates from Mercedes.

I like your confidence in providing statements like this I am not convinced unless you are working as a Mercedes engineer let's follow up on following thread and see if this person has received the feature after 2.4 update https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...-4-update.html

Here is the official word from a Mercedes news bulletin:
Traffic Light Information (Red light countdown) reveals a countdown timer for certain connected traffic lights on your route. Traffic Light Information will be sundowned beginning with MY23 and newer vehicles equipped with Navigation Services. For vehicles with active Mercedes me Connect subscriptions with activated Traffic Light Information, service will remain active until the expiration of their subscription.
