How good is the Filter

Cars equipped with the Hepa system should be pretty good, I would think. I've thought about the air quality in the cabin also, as in the Midwest we've had smokey air coming down from the Canadian wildfires, and it is satisfying to see unhealthy air outside run clean after going through the Hepa system. With that said, I've never seen an OEM cabin air filter that was as good as some of the aftermarket filters available from filter specialists such as WIX or Hengst. And as a bonus, they are usually less expensive than the MB filters. Not sure if either company are making their best biofunctional filters yet for our cars, but surely they will be coming. Here's what I have in my old Mercedes...

The HEPA filtration system is superb. Even when the outside is "purple" the interior is "green". Its. not a gimmick either, if you open the window, the interior sensor almost instantly senses the dirty air. In addition the PPM measurement is also very accurate.

It was very good in the smoky season here in Seattle. The outside was at dangerous levels, pretty much all smoke, smelled like bbq. I think car showed something like 90 pmi outside, aqi was above 150.
Inside was 1pmi according to car, no smoke smell either. The air inside the car was better then air inside our home. (we had our fresh air intake left open by mistake)
