- If we have something coded by you, and the dealer updates the car with a complete set of coding, which overwrites your work, what do we do? I'm especially concerned regarding the ILS+ activation coding.
- This "comfort close" work with Gary, is that also known as "soft close doors" where the car will pull the door in for the last inch or so to fully close it? If so, please let me know if that can be coded on a MY2023 EQS 580 SUV. That's probably my wife's biggest gripe. Her last car had it, and she misses it on her Benzo. Or is this coding for the full "Comfort Door" package (US $2,600)

Another S500 USA Done today. Cheers!
2: Comfort door (SA67B, SA68B) means auto door, not soft close (SA883), we just get this Comfort door done for him like photo and video below:
Gary is from ECE region so their car has SoftClose from factory but Comfort door disabled by factory.

So, soft close doors are not comfort doors. The last cm or so is the soft close where it just pulls the door that last little bit to make the seal. Comfort doors are where you can control the complete opening and closing of any of the doors.
i have all of the prerequisites for the comfort doors but in my market (Portugal), Mercedes have chosen to disable them 🤷🏻♂️ I’ve argued extensively with both my dealer and Mercedes Germany over this but they just provide pleasantries (not even a free cap!) in return.
Anyway, Elebest, after many hours of work / late nights and using my car as the test prototype, has done it!!! I’m really happy with the result and the car now works as it was designed to at the factory, no thanks to… … anyway, I shouldn’t digress…
So, I now have the following:
Each door can be fully opened or closed from the menu in the MBUX. Any door can be closed individually (once the passenger(s) are in) or, by a “close all” button.
When I get in the drivers seat and touch the brake pedal, the door automatically closes.
When I long press the unlock button on the key, the drivers door will open. Imagine being at one end of a car park and it’s raining - run to the car with the button, by the time you get there, doors already open! And then closes automatically too!
There a couple of other neat things but I’ve covered the main points.
So, now that the research and toil has already been done, I’m sure Elebest will be able to code it pretty quickly for others. I sent him videos of the operations after coding and I’m sure he can provide them, together with the pricing on request. I had contacted a number of coders around the world who were unable to provide this service so I’m fairly sure he’s your best bet for this. Note that I paid full price so I’m not advertising for him, just a (very) happy customer.
To your other question. Yes, if Mercedes have any need to overwrite a bunch of core code in the car, there is a risk to losing the mods. However, he has taken a backup of the necessary modules (and of course now knows how to do it!) so it can be re-dialed in very quickly. Again, I don’t know how much this will cost and I leave you to discuss directly with him.
For me, this “project” has been a great learning experience and I hope others benefit from it if they believe it’s worth it for them.

Thanks.

- Windows 10 laptop with decent RAM (8GB plus) and CPU/disk speed (Windows 11 would be fine)
- 100Mbps Internet connection, as measured at your laptop
- 2 Ethernet adapters (Ethernet to car, ethernet to Internet). I think he wants to avoid using WiFi to the Internet.
- TeamViewer will be used on your laptop
- And an Ethernet to OBD2 cable. I am going to test out this one, as my old one was shot.

Active Matrix heads are, uh, active. In the picture below, note the light pattern. The right side is "high", then the sharp drop off in the middle, and my high beams are not blinding the driver on the left. You can't really tell from the picture, but there is a "box of darkness" around the other car being made by my headlights, and the high beams are lighting up everything else. That's the beauty of these lights. My high beams stay on without blinding oncoming traffic, nor blinding anyone that I'm following.
