Cracked windshield
We just returned home from OH. I talked to my insurance company and it’s fully covered. Just for my curiosity, how much does it cost? Also, how long does it take to get here from Germany?

That listed price of $1900 for the windshield is rather cheap compared to my 750li. They wanted $3400 installed. It has HUD and whatever else that they think an OE should have, and charges for whatever they think they can get for it.
The crack on my windshield is about 3 inches on the passenger side side edge. I was also told by someone that if you get a crack from any of the edge, the crack will expand much faster than if it was a chip/crack toward the interior location of the windshield. The cracks will get larger very fast especially when the inside and outside temperature are vastly different.

The first one satellite got had a broken heated windscreen connector next one had broken mount for dash cam and finallly after 3 months got one what wasn’t damaged or broken.
Make sure you get to check the windscreen prior to mount if you have more than a simple glass

I broke the windshield on my 2019 S560 coupe and they had one in inventory, got it fixed within a few days. And that's a comparatively rare car.

Did you notice those probs or is that just what they said? Asking cuz I got that spiel about having to inspect it and stuff before they had even actually ordered it. Have a feeling that's just standard response #1 when someone calls to ask what's taking so long.
GEICO is only making me pay $50 for the windshield my new 2024 Jag needs FWIW (instead of my normal deductible).

AAA had a $0 deductible so yea wait was the pain
you can get non PAF (IR and sound dampened glass sooner PAF ones are a pain to come by

I chose to pay for these out of pocket to prevent that. EV insurance is a rip off as it is.
I unfortunately think PPF like EXOSHIELD is mandatory, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. I had a small stone crack my EQS SUV windshield after about 18 months of driving. I was not following too closely - in fact I saw the stone and the truck was in the other lane about 4-6 car lengths ahead.
On my G and AMG GTC, I have had EXOSHIELD since the start and no cracked windshield over about 100,000 km of combined driving.
Problem with EXOSHIELD is you have to deal with the installers - who are reluctant to do a small job and either never get back to you or over-charge.
