Distance symbol on mbux center display
EQS 2023 580 Sedan. On my MBUX central display and driver display, there is a symbol indicating distance with the number 50 ft. The car is currently parked in my garage and about 5 ft from another car. When driving, the "distance" amount changes but I can not correlate to the distance to the car in front or anything else. Does anybody know what this is?

Have you never read a map? That shows you the current scale of the map. You pretty much find this on every map ever published. The line next to it indicates how long 50ft is at the current zoom level your map is on, so you can judge distances on the map. If you have auto zoom turned on as it sounds, then the zoom level constantly changes while driving based on the road you are on and therefore how long 50ft is or it might scale up to 100ft, 200ft etc. constantly changes. Every map has a scale and in order to know how far the distance is between two points you need to now the scale. That's what this is.

I wish the moderators of this site would censor people like you. I’ve seen so many posts on here when you are condescending and rude. Did you really need to ask, “Have you never read a map?” in order to answer the original question? I hope you find some joy in your life (as well as kindness and courtesy for others) and stop being so miserable.

I find that people can get pretty sensitive and quite honestly, it's the changing of times. BUT, we still need let people know that written communication can mean many different ways depending on the how the "receiver" receives it. Therefore, we should not be too quite to "assume" that the writer is in one way or another offensive or defensive. Just take the words at face value without prejudgment, and digest what is good for you. Superwiss isn't offending any one. His information is helpful in this instance. If you think his rhetoric is offensive, go take a chill pill.

Yeah, lots of people struggling with their mental health these days unfortunately. The pandemic didn't help. As was in the news yesterday: "Elmo asks the internet 'How are you doing?' Turns out, they’re not doing great.". Anyway, let's keep things on topic.
