Retrofit parts number - Powered charger port (U59) and USB package (72B)
Since the newer MY vehicles are coming out with some much-needed quality-of-life features like a Powered Charge port (which should have been standard equipment, TBH), I thought we would share to build a great knowledge base for current and future members attempting retrofits.
I was hoping to retrofit the U59 Powered Charge port, with the 72B 100W USB package being the next one.
From what I could gather, the external flap locking mechanisms are the same. The difference is that an actuator motor is used instead of the spring-loaded mechanism on MY22 and MY23. Coding would enable Open/Close commands on MBUX, which is a harder nut to crack.
Since this is my first Mercedes, I’m not having much success finding part numbers for this actuator unit with MBParts.
If anyone here has done retrofits, can you guide me on how to proceed? Share resources to look up; I’d appreciate any assistance.
