Update Notice from MBUSA
Today in the mail I got a notice about an impending OTA communication module update. It gave me from Jul 15 - Aug 14 to opt out of the update. What is strange it stated that I do not have a Mercedes Me account associated with my vehicle even though I have had my vehicle for almost a full year and have logged into Mercedes Me and see my vehicle just fine. I have activated a ton of features and have received at least four OTA updates since I have had my vehicle.
Just wondering if anyone else received this notice or have seen issues with Mercedes associating their Mercedes Me account properly.

But I'm curious about your notice. Could you take a photo of it? And why would they give you a way to opt-out? That must mean that the upgrade has some downside, or they're going to be using data in new ways than we have already agreed to, or something.

Yes, I got the same notice yesterday and have veen on Mercedes Me Connect since December 2021 when we took delivery of the car. I have no idea about side effects but as it is labled as a communication update, I'll just see if I notice any difference in anything. One thing I did notice, is that MMC says that my last OTA update was July 24, 2024 and is up-tp-date.

My vehicle and my Merceds Me Connect app have both been working perfectly since I purchased in January 2022. I recently updated the app to the latest version. I've also had four OTAs, all of which are listed in the app. Hope this helps.

I actually updated the app yesterday from the App Store, after reading about the enhancements to 12v battery reporting, etc.

I have no idea. But you may be right, that it just checked for update. I don't remember seeing anything since that date.

I actually received this notice for both of our vehicles today. My wife and I both have active Mercedes Me Conncect accounts, with updated apps. It clearly states no dealer visit is required. This is very strange, but, since I am not opting out, I assume the aformentioned updates will occur OTA as they are supposed to. Very strange communication.

I'm a bit confused. Understood if you got an active (or paid) Mercedes me connect subscription, you can get the update. How about those that decided not to fork up $200/year on it? Are we SOL?

In the Mercedes me AG (Canada) the affected options are removed from the app. It may be different with Connect. Incidentally, the renewal in Canada is actually 360 days, not a full year. Seems like penny pinching by MB.

I honestly didn't even notice my services had expired. If anything the navigation seems to be a little better now that it doesn't do stupid rerouting around traffic. I rarely use the app though. Might have renewed just for the vehicle locator service but Geico isn't giving me any discount for it so **** it. It'll be their problem not mine if it gets stolen.

Sorry for your bad experiences and the way you feel about it. Mine has been totally oposite in all the 6 MB cars I have or currently still own. Software and app work flawlessly in my EQS and my wife's GLC. YMMV.
