Mercedes and Buccees

I understand mercedes entered a partnership agreement with buccees to install mercedes branded charging stations at all new buccees locations.

Amarillo just opened this weekend and wondering if anyone has been by to confirm they are actually there and working. This makes a trip that way in the eqs feasible. looking at Mar/Apr travel that way.

FYI, there is already an Electrify America (in front of Sam's Club) in Amarillo. (I stopped there last April, on my way back to California from watching the solar eclipse.)

Texas locations are Fort Worth, Royce and temple per the Bucees website.

A new Buccees opened in Daytona beach recently and I stopped in out of curiosity. To my surprise there are Mercedes charging stations there. I was actually in an ice vehicle at the time and didn’t get a chance to test them out.

I would assume that most new builds will have MB chargers. The plans for one in southern Louisiana that were published in the newspaper only show “site for future EV charger”, though.

Am just wrapping up a recent visit from Sweden to Myrtle Beach followed by a drive (in a rental RAV4 ICE) to Orlando.
I was astounded at how few EV's of any make I saw on the road compared to what I'm used to in Sweden.
I was entertained and impressed by the Buccees advertising along the highway and wouldn't have had any idea what it was about if it weren't for this forum. Stopped in at one just south of St. Augustine to see what all the fuss was about.
Wow - I was impressed! They seem to excel in getting right what all the other places continually fail at.
A seemingly endless row of high-speed chargers. (Did not look close enough to see if any were MB, however). Most chargers were empty on this Tuesday late afternoon.
My only gripe about Buccees was that after buying some really good food to eat for lunch, I could not find a place to sit down to eat it outside anywhere. I asked an employee where people usually eat and he gave me a puzzled look and said ...um...in their cars! Hmmm. Sort of defeats part of the point of a "rest stop" in my opinion. Anyway, it's just a small gripe. Overall, the place really impressed me.

I believe there are two new Buccees on Rt95 in Florida. On my way down to my house in south Florida we passed both of them and stopped in the one near Daytona Beach. Over 100 gas pumps. New Mercedes chargers. Was a holiday weekend and the line to get into the stop was backed up half way to 95. It was so busy we just fueled up and left. Was in ice car so had to wait for pump to open. Mercedes chargers were empty. Yeah, you don’t see nearly as many EV’s here in US vs Sweden.

This varies a lot depending on which part of the country you're in. In 'blue state' cities, you're likely to see more EVs on the road. (As an extreme example, in my town, Mountain View, California (in 'Silicon Valley'), about 1/4 of the cars seem to be EVs.)

This was something that I noticed when I visited my first (and so far, only) Buc-ees, in Ennis, Texas (about a year ago, shortly after watching the total solar eclipse there). There was nowhere to sit, and no WiFi. Boo, hiss!

Well we did travel over the holiday weekend. Heck, we had to wait just to get into the place it was so busy. It was so crowded and we were about 3 hours from our house over a 2 day drive of 22 hours we just gassed up and left. The place was still in the process of building the car wash, which I have to say is the biggest one I ever saw. When I head north for the summer we will probably check one out when it’s less busy.
