Mercedes South Orlando Joyride 0-94 mph
I will be using Valet mode from now on needless to say. The dealership management never returned my call, text, or email about the aforementioned drag strip run.
I wanted to post this because I never thought to use Valet mode when dropping the car off for service at the dealership. If I knew how to post the dashcam video to this site, I would. The car is rather quick!

The acceleration sounds about right. 1/4 mile in 11.3 seconds with a trap speed of ~118 mph. Did you have the AMG track add-on? I thought about purchasing it, but I figured I wouldn't get my money's worth out of it, and it doesn't add any more power to the AMG EQS. I wish MB added the boost feature like Porsche and Audi. I do more rolling acceleration than from a dig, plus you have to be 80% charged to utilize it extra 100 HP from a dig.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
But on an EV, I can't understand the need for this, so I'm inclined to agree with you that they were joy-riding. Shame on them!!
I live in Sweden, but I was just in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I actually stopped at MB South Orlando to wander around their lot and showroom to see what's developed since I bought my EQE SUV and to observe differences between the US and the Swedish version of the car.
I was rather surprised that they had almost no EQE's and EQS's (new or used) on display in their large inventory of vehicles. Not sure what this implies about the current market there. Sold out due to impending Tariffs? Not stocking due to slowing EV adoption in the US? Waning interest in EV's in that area??
I saw my first CyberTruck, however! What an UGLY thing!!
Watched the owner pull in, get out and start looking around at MB's :-)

The car was only charged to 50%, so I was surprised it laid down that 8 second 90+.

For what it is worth, I've been seeing lots of these in Toronto, Canada. Maybe because people like standing out...
