Mercedes South Orlando Joyride 0-94 mph

Just a bit of caution for anyone who uses Mercedes South Orlando for service. My car was in for the recall service and some minor issues. My dashcam recorded their techs racing my car 0-94 mph in 8 seconds…..in a 30 mph side street, nonetheless.

I will be using Valet mode from now on needless to say. The dealership management never returned my call, text, or email about the aforementioned drag strip run.

I wanted to post this because I never thought to use Valet mode when dropping the car off for service at the dealership. If I knew how to post the dashcam video to this site, I would. The car is rather quick!

Glad the dashcam is integrated so it can't be unplugged and then didn't know about it so otherwise turning off the recording. Valet mode as in geofencing?

Valet mode to limit power during acceleration and to limit top speed to 50 mph.

IDK years ago a guy I worked with tossed me the keys to his built bug. He built engines for baja racers. I took it out and was doing 110 underneath the LAX runway and had slowed down to 85 when a motorcycle cop pulled me over for doing 85 in a 35. When I got back the guy looked at me a asked what was wrong and I showed him the ticket. His face lit up and he snatched the ticket to make a copy of it because he was so proud.

That really sucks, and thanks for posting. I dislike people who do those things without asking for permission. That is just hideous and lame tech. He / She needs to be disciplined.

The acceleration sounds about right. 1/4 mile in 11.3 seconds with a trap speed of ~118 mph. Did you have the AMG track add-on? I thought about purchasing it, but I figured I wouldn't get my money's worth out of it, and it doesn't add any more power to the AMG EQS. I wish MB added the boost feature like Porsche and Audi. I do more rolling acceleration than from a dig, plus you have to be 80% charged to utilize it extra 100 HP from a dig.

On an ICE car, I would have expected a dealer to test heavy acceleration after some types of service. Maybe not to this extreme, however...
But on an EV, I can't understand the need for this, so I'm inclined to agree with you that they were joy-riding. Shame on them!!

I live in Sweden, but I was just in Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I actually stopped at MB South Orlando to wander around their lot and showroom to see what's developed since I bought my EQE SUV and to observe differences between the US and the Swedish version of the car.
I was rather surprised that they had almost no EQE's and EQS's (new or used) on display in their large inventory of vehicles. Not sure what this implies about the current market there. Sold out due to impending Tariffs? Not stocking due to slowing EV adoption in the US? Waning interest in EV's in that area??

I saw my first CyberTruck, however! What an UGLY thing!!
Watched the owner pull in, get out and start looking around at MB's :-)

The car does have the track package, if I recall, which is why it has the dash cam with track mode. Funny, when I picked the car up, the track mode screen was still displayed as the selected instrument cluster. They didn’t even bother to turn it off!

The car was only charged to 50%, so I was surprised it laid down that 8 second 90+.

Hey at least it stands out

For what it is worth, I've been seeing lots of these in Toronto, Canada. Maybe because people like standing out...
