So that is indeed good highway efficiency (admittedly the average speed is on the slow side but nonetheless) for an EQS580. What is the best efficiency that others have seen on pre 2024 (that is when the DCU was introduced) EQS 580 at similar conditions? Trying to figure out how much value added the DCU is.

you were getting 4.2 miles / kWh which I thought was remarkably high for that car, but I actually was calculating miles / % charge. The correct miles per kWh is 18 % less or 3.6 mile / kWh.

My EQS always displays more than 400 miles per charge.
I drive 55m/h on highways, but I only get around 300 miles...
When I drive gas cars, I even get more than displayed miles...
So anybody would guess the reason why I don't get a lot on my EQS?

Do you own a 2025 EQS 580 with the bigger battery? 300 miles sounds much too little.

When you refer to range you also need to factor in that they increased the battery capacity for 2025 from 107.8 kWh to 118 kWh which is why I am focused on the efficiency. Thinking about this made me realize I made an error in my efficiency calculation in post 49 above. In that post I stated that

One major factor is that you have the smaller battery. I doubt it has anything to do with recuperation settings.

This is the EQS 450 likely with rear wheel drive but it does suggest that the range in mostly city is over 500 miles for my 2025 EQS 580.
