Bob Lutz - The Future of Automobiles
When I left California, I drove North along the coast as far as I could, on my way to Washington.
I had family in Spokane.
They get about 300 days of rain there.
It rained the whole time I was there.
I took the northern route eastward to New York.
Until getting to eastern Illinois, I had the roads all but to myself, averaging 8-10 hours of driving a day, mostly during the day.
It was somewhat of a reverse of how I got to California in the first place, leaving from Alabama, on the southern route, and entering California in the desert South, and up the Tehachapi pass.
Looking back, I almost don’t know how I did it, and don’t think I could ever really do it again, to save my life.
