So my MB app tells me that there is an update available. When I look on the car’s MBUX, it tells me nothing is available.

Is that normal?

Doesn't sound normal. Can you post some screen shots from the app and from the car? And does your car have a WiFi hot spot to which it can connect for updates (not the car's own hot spot)?

The car is connected to my WiFi at the house which is fiber 2g/2g.

Here are some screens;

I am due to service B so I could ask them there.

Also - what is service B on a car with no engine?

If you're sure your car is connected to your home WiFi, then definitely talk to the dealer. You can also try rebooting MBUX, just for giggles.

This is what AI says about Service B on an EQS, which actually looks fairly spot on, from what I know...

Key services included in the EQS service B
  • Tire rotation: Performed every 10,000 miles for an EQS.
  • Filter replacements: Replace dust filter and cabin air filter.
  • Brake fluid service: Replace brake fluid.
  • High-voltage battery and charging system inspection: Check for damage and inspect the charging cable and vehicle socket for mechanical damage.
  • General inspection: Conduct a multi-point inspection to check other components, such as wiper blades, lights, and tires.
  • Other checks:
    • Check and correct headlamp adjustment.
    • Check all exterior and interior lights.
    • Inspect seat belts and buckles.
    • Check the hood and its safety catch

Discovered that my car is very out of date.

2022 for maps may not necessarily indicate an update problem.
I have found that a lot of my maps that were 2022 automatically update when I cross into a new region/country.
So, if you study the (rather long) list of maps, i bet you will find that the dates on the regions/states/counties you usually drive in are more current than 2022.

Don’t worry about the maps. Much of the stuff at the top will read 2022. Scroll down and see some of the individual regions.

Also - you can manually update the maps. Log on to the MB web site (the owner’s site) and there’s an option to download the maps to your PC. You put those files onto an SD card, pop the card into the car, and it will update itself. You can use that process to selectively update map areas, or update “everything”.

But your software is on 2.4. I believe that’s what the E330 means. You’re in the same boat as I am.

Is there an SD card slot somewhere? Or would it be USB?

Also what do you mean in the same boat you are? Have you been able to get MB service to look at it? I just tried to make an appointment and there is nothing available for more than 101 days. Ugh… WHAT? Can they not support these cars?

Yeah - sorry - USB stick.

Same Boat = my car is running the E330 (2.4) software, and not offering the 2.6.x update (although it does already have the update that your app is showing).

That's odd about the 101 days. Very odd. Check with another dealer in your area, maybe?

That's exactly what I did and they have my car now for Service B and will do all of the updates for me.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but, I hate you.

I'm just jealous

I've been to two dealers trying to get my software updated. No joy. But I didn't use the "CarPlay doesn't work right" reason. I just called out the new features that I wanted/needed. Don't make my mistake.

I can’t be certain, but I think I just saw your MBUX freeze up. Yup… it froze. That could be dangerous while driving.

Same thing happened to my navigation screen - but only intermittently ;-)
