Another EQS or Taycan?
To me the Macan looks less Porsche-like than the Taycan. In fact, to my eye, it more closely resembles the MB EQE SUV, which I suppose is not a good thing for Porsche lovers ;-)
But personally (and not surprisingly), I prefer the look of the Macan over the Taycan.
I think the way to think of the Taycan is a really nice 911 not a Mercedes replacement. For example I have always wanted a 911 and years ago test drove one and got back in my Mercedes and didn't care for the relative lack of refinement. Move ahead in time 20 years and you read how the 911's are becoming GT cars. I go to test drive a 991 model. Start it up and just the racket of the engine was a turn off and read others complain about the noise of it going down the road. Along comes the Taycan which gets rid of all of that but still handles remarkable well.

The newer version with larger battery, heat pump and declutch front wheel motor when not required have substantially improved range compare with mine.
It is probably one if the best long distance EV car on the market.
1) EQS 580 Sedan
2) AMG EQS 53
3) Porsche Taycan (low mile certified less than $90k)
We love the EQS SUV so much I'd love to try the sedan just for something that handles a bit better and I actually like the look of the sedan esp. in red or Manufaktur Selenite Gray with a little tint on the windows.
I've heard great things about the Taycan too, esp. the handling and I think the looks of the Taycan is hard to beat. But, I've heard the range is kinda lacking.
Thoughts please? Especially from owners of both EQS Sedan and Taycan!

Our avg mpkWh has been 3.1 or about 323 miles range. I’m expecting this to go down in the winter months, but I think this is pretty good so far!
Preconditioning will bring both battery temperature and inside temp. at the right spot before leaving which is good for battery longevity and available range.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I want to know everything — how does it drive? Is it quiet? Quick? How does it corner? How are the seats, and how’s the sound system? Maybe a silly question for a Porsche, but how’s the cruise control — intuitive or finicky?
What’s your overall favorite thing about it so far? Biggest surprise?
And yes — we need more photos! A shot of the Macan parked next to your EQS would be great fun to see.
It’s just plain fun to share in your new experience. Doggone it, I just love cars — and what a time to be alive! The technology, the safety, the performance, the design, the sexy — it’s all fascinating and exhilarating to me!
Why not Taycan Turbo S: Looks stunning, but the inside design was OK compared to the EQS 53. Great driving experience, but can only fit 3 more people. I wanted a 3 persons in the back capable.
Speed: Very fast. I waited a year later for the EQS 53 (aka AMG EQS), it checked that box. Slightly slower than the Turbo S, but OK since I'm not looking to lead in a chase when I have passengers. Reaction time can level that field in reality. In S+ mode it can certainly hang with the Turbo S a little over the triple digits, but the EQS weight can be felt on wide high speed curves.
Ride quality, EQS 53 hands down. AMG EQS is not as smooth as the 580 suspension but more composed and planted though not like a Ferrari 488 or a Nissan GTR. Luxury and comfort, EQS hands down.
Looks: White Taycan Turbo S is Miss America while the EQS is the girl you married 20+ years ago!
AMG EQS, when put in S+, it's beast to be reckoned with. All the loud engines sounds are like dog barks without a bite if you can't shift properly. With the EQS, you can take your family anywhere in comfort and no complains. By yourself or with a buddy, the beast puts a grin on you'll faces.
The only advantage I see with an SUV is you don’t have to worry too much about curbs and parking blocks. And one more thing, a little roomier to haul big things.
Why get a pony that does specific tricks when you can get a horse that will do all the tricks and a true daily drive?
