Longest VPC wait?

Hi all,

I did the EDP this summer and had an absolute blast. 30 days driving in 10 countries in Europe was a great adventure but I digress.

I dropped off the car in Frankfurt on the 17th of August. The car did have a minor scrape on one of the rims when I dropped it off. Car got released to VPC (Baltimore) by customs on the 13th of September but since then all I got has been absolute silence. Dealership is not helpful so I thought I'd reach out to the community and sample the experiences here.

My EDP '14 S550 4matic was at the VPC for 18 days Jan/Feb 2014. To my knowledge it did not have any damage. Yours has been there about 12 days now so that is not uncommon--EDP cars are not a priority as I found out in 2014 since they are already sold cars and the dealers do not necessarily have an incentive to get them to the you/dealers quickly. But since you had a minor scrape on the rim it may take a bit longer but maybe not. Hope my experience helps. I will be doing EDP at the end of this year on a '19 S63 so I will be in your shoes again waiting for the car and hoping it gets back to the states and to me fast.

It had not occurred to me you go to the source. Might be worth exploring. I don't have the contact info for the Baltimore VPC. Dealership has not been helpful at all in my case.

Asked the dealership to look into what the status of the car is again. They notified me today that "the car should be here any day, likely this week". Very excited to see it again.

Wow, that's amazing. I'm at one month now and still not here.

I was just notified that the car arrived at the dealership.
Dropped off in Frankfurt on Aug 17.
Released by customs on Sept 13th.
At dealership on Oct 20.
38 days for VPC and transport. This must be one of the longer waits. Super excited is finally here, now few more days for prep...

Today I picked up my Euro Delivery ‘19 S63 from my dealer. I dropped off my car in Bremerhaven on 11/23 and picked it up at my dealer in PA 12/31. This is 38 days from drop off in Germany to pick up in the states. Yes this is lighting fast and it even sat at the VPC waiting for a car transport truck for one week. Since my dealer was on top of this with great communication I contacted the person in Atlanta in charge of the Euro Delivery department and she got it on a truck and it was at the dealer within 2 days of my e-mail. Atleast in my case it was worth it to “micro manage” the process of getting the car returned to me as quickly as possible. This is the second Euro Delivery car I have experienced in being sent to me and it would appear that Euro Delivery cars on the return seem to be “second class citizens” to cars going to the dealers that have not been paid for yet by the customer.
