‘19 S63 European Delivery

I just completed the Euro Delivery of my 2019 S63. Wow! What a magical experience.

The delivery was completed in Sindelfingen at the Center of Excellence. The delivery itself was awesome thanks to Peter in the Center of Excellence. Also the one on one tour (as part of the AMG experience) was great at the S class manufacturing facility. I had done the group tour of the S Class facility about 1 1/2 years ago and that was good but the one on one tour was much better since I was up close and personal with the workers on the manufacturing floor.

As part of my delivery experience I went to Affalterbach Germany the day after the S63 delivery in Sindelfingen and did a one on one tour for almost 4 hours. WOW! Absolutely amazing. If one is interested at all in AMG you should visit the facility.

My dealer was able to put the one on one tours together as part of the Mercedes Benz and AMG experience with the purchase of the S63. So if anyone is looking to do an S63 Euro Delivery you might want to have your dealer (I am in the US) set up the tours.

Ditto + MBZ Museum

Took EDP on a C63s in May and also did both factory tours.

All was great. Working with a skilled salesperson is highly recommended to get the most of this.

The museum surprised me. I was recovering from the flu and almost skipped it, but I am glad that I went. It is a lot more that just a museum or even MBZ related. I spent 30 minutes in the parking garage before even entering the museum. There are some special cars there in glass boxes and a lot of the other visitor's and emplyee's cars are quite interesting.

MTrauman,

Did you have the AMG one on one lunch experience also? can you detail the delivery for us? Planning this in May 2019 for an e63 wagon.

I had the Center of Excellence (COE) delivery at the main plant in Sindelfingen Germany. With the Center of Excellence delivery you have a private dining experience. Below is a picture of the table setting of the private dining experience for lunch. My COE delivery was at 10am with a one on one tour of the S Class manufacturing facility at 11:30am with an AMG tour guide. We (the tour guide & I) drove my new S63 from the delivery center to the S Class factory behind the delivery center and parked my new car in the parking lot where all the new S Class cars roll of the factory line and are parked. We then walked into the S Class assembly factory. This is where one of the one on one tours was awesome. I was up and close to the factory floor. I had been to the S Class factory before on a group tour and the one on one tour was much better than the group tour. Much more personalized. After the tour we drove the new car back to the COE delivery center and had a late lunch. Can’t remember what time it was that we had lunch but I had a snack before the 10am delivery since I arrived by about 8:10am at the delivery center. Which by the way, I had an S Class taxi from the hotel to the delivery center. The story is kind of cool here. The day before the delivery I took a taxi from the hotel to the MB Museum. When I left the museum I took a taxi back from the museum to my hotel. The taxi was an S Class. I started talking to the Iranian taxi driver about my new delivery the following morning. I made an arrangement with him to pick me up at the hotel and take me to the delivery center the following morning. And he did. Cool that some taxi’s in Germany are even nice S Class cars.

I then left the COE delivery center and drove a few miles to check in to a hotel I had been to before—the Marriott Sindelfingen. The following morning I left Sindelfingen and drove to Affalterbach Germany to get the one on one tour (with a different tour guide) with the AMG facility in Affalterbach. Wow! For me, this was the highlight of my trip. The AMG tour guide spent almost 4 hours with me. ABSOULTELY just amazing. This tour made me an AMG guy forever. I have owned new S Class cars for 25 years but never an AMG. This tour sold me on AMG. WOW WOW WOW! Is all I can say. Below are a couple of pics of the AMG stuff as well.

By the way, that American flag was raised for me at the AMG facility. That was cool.
