****Ventura Meet/Party AUGUST 27th****
Mike or Chris start a thread????? Find out how many people will fit in the Hummer and we can split it.
Brad,
Yep work is overrated! We got in two jumps today before the heat became unbearable! I am going to try and get my scuba certificate this weekend. I think instead of growing up, I'm getting younger!

We might as well just put them in our siggys.

oh and x your fingers i may have my benzo back and rolling after i get back from the keys. not that much was damaged in the accident.
at what point does one not have game?
Eric,
Thank you for the offer about the diving hookup. My customers is one of the worlds best Urcin divers and he is teaching us. Diving is not a joke, and I plan on learning from this guy. In spring we are going to dive Yongala in Australia. It's a sunken ship and the best dive spot in the world.
Usman,
Have mike forward you the pic. It's on my phone and I sent it to him.
As for the diving, I am doing it off the Ventura coast near Santa Cruz Island. We have seen a few baby sharks and my heart sank. You feel so small next to them. So far the sharks have been cool. It's a different story in Australia! We are going to dive to a sunken ship where tiger sharks and other massive creatures are common. I am starting to train my arms hard core at the gym right now so I can throw a good punch in the water.
I will still be terrified, but life is too short to pass this up!
Mi-espousa and I will try are best to make your gtg. It seems like it will be alot of fun. You are correct life is far tooo short not to go for daring things. We will probably start our lessons with the individuals who are on the Search and rescue team on base. Are you by any chance staying on the island, with the Conservancy? When you go diving, I know they won't take you in the kelp, because the water near the beaches is the clearest, cleanest and best to dive in of anywhere, like Catalina. (And the kelp is where the seals are, which is, therefore, where the sharks are - ahhhhh!) They make underwater throwaway cameras now that go really deep - SC Isle was made for them! You can take a picture of a shark and everything else you see
Also, while there, I don't know if you've got time to do other stuff, but it has the BEST underwater cave system, and the BEST and easiest to find indian stuff and fossils, if you like climbing and hiking around. If its super low tide, you can go back in that cave tunnel thing really far under the island. Supposedly, is the longest cave system of its type in the WORLD :o

Lisa,
That is so cool that you also dive. We took a day trip and didn't stay over night. The guy that is training me took me in the kelp beds to show me that they were nothing to be afraid of. It looks like a forest of trees underwater, and nothing like I expected. Life was good until I got my first jelly fish sting on the hand. Holy S###...talk about pain! I guess that is another thing I need to get use to. They felt bad for me so they took me on a road trip to Morongo Casino for some Petrone!
Forget the limo to the club guys we should do a trip to Morongo. That place is huge and the clubs are fun. I like it better than Vegas. We should have a meet there in the winter.

And wtf were you doing in the kelp??? Yah, kelp okay, seen it, different, cool, but now can we go take advantage of some of the clear bays and actually see the ground COVERED in shells and all the sea life swimming around, not just ENDLESS KELP? That should have been your next question. You did see more than kelp, didn't you? I'm glad he made it up to you, but ... WTF???
As Sean would say, WTF - I have never got a jelly fish sting and I don't know any diver who has, not that I know every diver on the planet, but its just not a regular occurence and I hope you weren't led to believe this. Don't worry about getting used to it ... And, I have dived, swam, snorkled, rockgardened, all of it, around SC Isle and have never got a JF sting? Not even second hand. So I don't think you have to get used to it even if you go in cold water, or that area?

LOL...I know this is off topic, but it's my thread so what the hell. Two other people got stung that day so I don't feel that bad. It's like a bee sting, it doesn't happen often but might. The guide surfaced us near a school of them and we couldn't come up any faster to avoid them???
It's no biggie. As for the kelp, I had a phobia getting trapped or tangled in it. Let's face it being underwater with all those creatures is a little intimidating. I thought the kelp was a big mess and he was just showing us that it's much like a forest. Some of the kelp was a few car lengths away. Sure we saw neat stuff. I thinks it's a crime but I got a purple coral from the bottom. We saw tons of sea life and I am hooked. I am seriously considering cave diving. We should hook up and go diving chick. That would be cool. If we could supercharge our fins we would be set. LOL Do you skydive Lisa? Morongo is between The O.C. and Palm Springs. Quicker to get to than Vegas.

You've obviously gotten to know diving very well. Since you are used to the cold and enjoy collecting, I say we get you dry suit certified and head over to Ireland. I know a spot ...Never skydove(?) I thought the goal was to stay in the plane

Uummm what's a Mondongo soup? I'd still prefer Oggie's pizza.
