Caravaning, Clubbing, Dining and Dancing

its all good. i just want to make my idea clear.
if people hookup that is great. maybe they will thank us all for setting it up.
the main theme that i enjoy most of the meets i have been to are hanging out with the people. i bet godfather is a crackup in real life. i bet he would have us all rolling in stiches. that is what would make this sucessful is having great personalities hanging out.
benzgal is getting a jump on the idea and i think we could refine it. saprissa/carlos put an awesome meet together and i HAD A BLAST LEADING THE CARAVAN!! carlos is trying to plan another meet up here in irvine late sept early oct so maybe that is when we should shoot for the 1st annual mbz meet and great after we beat up the streets (or at least vic does with his evosport e55).

being that several people are interested in at least the concept of meeting up after the meets at a place to eat; i will be recommending we go with the caravan to the meets; then have the meet; then we all we have a prearranged place to sit down and convo.
if i should add anything else into the planning of the next big event in irvine please by all means shout out. oh and you are welcome to bring your own escort if need be.

actually, the last really BIG meets we've had, are exactly what you are describing.
Aside from the clubbing & dancing scene...
the City of Industry Meet
the Rose Bowl Meets
the San Diego (Encinitas) Meet
have ALL been: individuals meet up somewhere (various locations), caravan to BIG meet, do stuff at the meet itself (chat, photos, raffles, some guys do burn outs & dumb things, work/install stuff on each other's cars), and then go to eat (Fuddruckers, 50's roller-skating girls in mini-skirts Diner, Oggi's Pizza, etc...).
We can talk more about this when we meet on August 13th to plan the very next BIG meet in Irvine. I don't think your ideas are bad, or off in any way. I think most of us are onboard with what you are saying, but you will be pleasantly surprised to find out, that every meet I've been to, we've been doing these things all along.
there have been a couple of exceptions of other recent meets lately, where the event organizer took off, or there wasn't a pre-set plan in place, and everyone went different directions. But that is the whole purpose of having a SoCal Meet Committee, is to avoid this unpleasantries, and come up with good MB/AMG meets where people get to know each other, and it's not just 2 hours of drooling on each other's cars. Other ideas include: beach day meet / Las Vegas road-trip / renting out a race track / go-kart racing meet / wine country cruise & taste & dine / mini-gumball rallys / AMG only meets / SLK only meets / C-Class only meets / etc....
Don't worry.... we've got a good plan coming, and it's for the benefit of all !!

carlos i feel the love. not literally because the other guys would be jealous. anyhow indoor entertainment needs to have as much focus as outdoor entertainment. i feel confident we will have a lot to offer everyone after our prelim meeting.
our encinitas meet was well organized however eating/meeting afterwards was kind of an after thought just like it was in the newport cruise. if we plan the indoor fun as well as the outdoor everyone will know there is ample parking, tables to sit at. i have yet to attend the festivities after the meets because they were planned as an after thought. now that we will consider it in the whole of the process i feel we will have even more to offer everyone.

since i am attending the planning meeting for the sept/oct benzo meet i need ideas for places to grub and caravan to. also if the places have dance floors that would not be a bad thing.
