Steve, not sure your browsing but I will be there early and I want your group to park with us in front by the bleachers like last year. Look or me or call me as soon as you get to the gate. Thanks.

Thumbs up

I find it hard to put into words how much fun this past week end was.
What a fantastic group of enthusiasts. We have faces to go with names and great friendships were forged. I know we will all be getting together again in the future.

Those who could not attend....you missed the start of something GREAT. Don't worry you will have oppotunities to join us again in the future. We will be doing this again. I invite evryone to join us. IT WAS THE BEST!!!

Special thanks MUST go out to Steve, Bob, Scott, Michael and Noah (last names ommitted to protect the innocent and the guilty ) With out your tireless efforts and planning none of this would have been possible.

It was a genuine pleasure meeting everyone. See you again soon!

We want to thank Steve for organizing your AMG Sunday with our Track Day.

The AMG gang STOLE the show at this event. People were watching OVER and OVER as AMG E55s, SL 65s E55s CLK and SLK 55s were just doing 11s, 12s, and low 13s in the 1/4 mile ALL DAY every time!!

The most AMAZING one might have been the G-WAGON 55 there. It was HILARIOUS seeing everyones face with weird looks initially (Why is this SUV here) and only a few of us knew what would happen.

The LOOKS on peoples faces were PRICELESS. The fastest I saw was a 12.75 in the 1/4!! Wow!!

Scott really represented the AMG cars as he finished 2nd in the quick 8 in his SL 65!! Congrats!! He ran an 11.7 but that was not his fastest time of the day.

Pics are being sent to me and I will post for you all to see, they are taken by professionals.

Thank you SO MUCH for coming out, that was great.

Beawulf, great finally meeting you in person!

I have lots of pictures and vids (the vids need to be converted from analog and edited). Work is crushing me this week, but will endeavour to get some things up soon.

The Private Lounge brought an SLK55 Black Series, plus MBUSA supplied a CLS63 and E63 for our inspection. Yes, the 63s ran both on the dyno AND at the track.....more details later on that. The CLK-DTM that had requested a registration packet was unfortunately unable to attend.

The "King of the Hill" Trophy went to Schiznick with his SL65 on drag radials: The fastest I saw him run all day was an 11.50, but I forget the trap speed.

The Fastest N/A AMG was billtc55's SLK55 on Mickey Thompson's that ran a 12.6X @111.

I thought I had the best reaction time in the bag with my .018 R/T until AmenMercedesGo squeezed me out by .005 seconds with a .013 R/T! Congrats to him!

I improved my ET slightly from my previous 13.349 to 13.341, and my dyno was an improvement from 289.9hp/313TQ to 304hp/321TQ....I now have 32K miles on her. Could have been the chilly temps and different dyno locations. Either way, I'm happy.

Special thanks to all who contributed to fund the additional security (we had a local Police Captian keep watch over the cars each night).

It was really a treat to meet so many passionate AMG souls this past weekend....I'm looking forward to seeing you all again at a future meet!

How did the E63 do? With the recent tests from C and D on the E63 wagon (0-60 in 4.0, 1/4 mile in 12.5) I am interested to hear if these numbers can be replicated.

I'll let those with the time slips chime in....there may be some additional info on the Private Lounge as well.

chappy how many cars were there in all? Maybe next year we combine our efforts and meet somewhere in the middle for an event where we might break the 100 car barrier?

Ding ding ding! Meet around the MD/DC/VA area. We have LOTS of nice AMG's in the area too. We have the 2 fastest E55's here (without nitrous) and the fastest overall (with nitrous). I think 100 cars is not out of the question.

Overall, I am pleased with the turnout. We had 38 AMGs plus some other MBs that turned up, not including any of the AMGs that just came on Sunday to the drags (another 4 or 5). Your crew would have put us over 50 AMGs.

The Private Lounge brought an SLK55 Black Series for us to crawl around in and MBUSA loaned an E63 and CLS63 from the AMG Challenge. Both ran at the track and dyno. They were very good to us!

Having an "AMG Super Meet" appeals to me, but it's also a lot of work. We would need a large team (6-8 people) to pull something like that off, plus have six months or more to plan...something to look into for next year?
