I had to get my beer since that was a byob meet- Ill be at the spectrum at 11am sharp at the south end by Target.

Darya had great service the other night but so was the food- sometimes that's half the battle just like dealing with tuners

As for evosport, there will be plenty of evosport modded AMGs at the meet, and their quality work speaks for itself. I'm sure Vic or any of us who've had evosport work on our cars, can fill in the gaps.

it all depends how long you want to hang out afterwards.
I usually stick around til the bitter end.... cause I hate to miss anything and it's way too long in between these LARGE-scale MB meets.

Usually things wrap up in a few hours. Say 5 PM. But that's not to say people don't hang around later. TiaJuanas has a great bar, and there's dancing on Saturday nights !!!

it was Ling who spoke with Paco. I'm not sure what you mean by "pre-approval". All that Paco wanted to know last time was to have a heads-up of how many people to expect in the restaurant for food & drinks, because that way he can have proper waiter/waitress/bartender staff to accomodate the surge in demand. This was more of a courtesy so his staff doesn't get overwhelmed by 100 hungry people at Noon ! As for the parking lot, he said, that it doesn't matter to him, because they are just customers eating at the restaurant, and that is what the parking lot is for. He has other car clubs do the same thing periodically. Corvettes, the WOODY club, VWs, etc...

Ling, if you're reading this, can you confirm with Paco once more, and get back to us with someone in SD crew who can post on here.... ???

nah.... don't sweat it. The cops last time were actually checking out the mods and MB exotics last time, and were not concerned about tints and plates.

The caution is when you drive in / out of the place. If you're speeding, driving recklessly, or any other moving violation, then that's when there is a potential problem with the law.

It's IRVINE. Remember that foremost. Other than that, we're gonna have some fun !!!

on a side note....

if you don't want your car's license plate number to be photographed (inadvertently) at a meet, please bring a vanity MB or AMG plate or whatever custom plate of your choosing to replace your license number plate.

Some people don't like it, others don't mind. But just be aware, that there will be various photographers throughout the meet taking pictures, and it is possible that your plates might appear in the photos.
At the last meet, several people placed really nice MB or AMG plates, or some used their dealership MB plates that came with the car. Your choice.

LOL!! I love it. You are right about that!! Good service can even make ****ty food taste better, so I can imagine when both are in tune .

What did they do, send a cutie to "serve" you? Maybe they mistook you for a persian? Or, they may have seen you roll up in one of your pimp rides. Iranians are suckers for Benzes.

For those that are getting paranoid (BenzGal), never fret. Your car is no where near loud enough for them to screw with, but keep the revs down!! I've never seen cops turn to *****s at these type events. The worst would be getting pulled for tints, but that can happen anywhere. I suggest rolling up in a caravan to avoid being a lone sucker. Kinda like how fish stay together to confuse the shark into not knowing who to eat!!

 

Dude, don't give VIC55 anymore reasons to scream at me. Now he has an excuse again!! Grrr. Sorry in advance VIC.

 

Here's a sample of the name plaque that I made for myself for past meets.
I was hoping people would do the same. I even handed out FREE lanyards in which if you printed out your own (5x8) you could place it in a concert-type plastic holder with the lanyard... Most people didn't go for it though.

 

I'm down for a Caspian follow up after the meet. Some Soltani + Must Moosir. I'll have to punch a couple of new holes in the belt, and don't even think about putting any leftovers in your ride, it'll be totaled.

 

No disrespect intended, but I'm not sure if Ling will be inclined to do anymore leg work for this meet than he already has, especially considering the SD Crew didn't even get any PARKING!! (just messing on the parking part).

I'm confused on what this permit is even for? We are meeting at a restaurant to eat, right? Heck, my company luncheon was at a restaurant and we had easily 100 cars there with no POPO. I personally don't care and am thankful to the ones doing the work, but just thinking is all.

How am I suppose to drink freely, knowing there's a police escort waiting for me outside? Hehe!! I'm actually looking out for VIC55, but he's too PC to say it!!

The permit is required by Irvine PD. Only because it's Irvine.
It's not for the restaurant, it's for the parking lot (owned by THE IRVINE CO.)
If anyone knows how much of a stickler THE IRVINE CO. can be, then you would know why they require a permit for everything.

Dude, you are doing a great job (as always). Ling's position has nothing to do with the meet and definitely not with you. You do what you do. Had you not stepped up to help Angela, we would be down right now as Ling is banned form this site (get it?).
